A's 1, Twins 0: Unearned run dooms Minnesota

Full story: TwinCities.com

RECAP: Alexi Casilla's throwing error in the sixth inning allowed Kurt Suzuki to score the winning run, and Oakland starter Gio Gonzalez combined with former Twins relievers Grant Balfour and Brian Fuentes to handcuff Minnesota in front of 39,936 at Target Field.

So glad we dumped Fuentes and his contract in favor of Glen Perkins. Really, I thought we were through with the Perk experiment, but I guess he gets the "Boof Benefit-of-the-doubt" extention.

BTW, M & M boys, it's time to start earning your frickin' paycheck!

The Twins better start shopping for another shortstop. Casilla has been awful at the plate and in the field.

Gardy DOES NOTHING again... Runners on 3rd and 1st base, NO ONE out... Our ninth hitter is up... Does he order the player to compete a squeeze bunt???? NO... As in other years he DOES NOTHING... and the hitter fails... Now runners on 3rd and 2nd base with one out. Does Gardy order a squeeze? NO... HE DOES NOTHING and yes, Span fails... and then Mauer fails... What do we pay Gardy to do... HE IS WORTHLESS and has not an ounce of Tom Kelly's stragetic imagination....

Fire that worthless piece of, as the French say, MANEURE!!!!!

Then in post game interview he "blames the players"... I blame the manager... too bad he is a eunoch... and cannot take the risks necessary to win!

Gardy... why don't you take responsiblity for your inability to manage???? YOU LOST THIS GAME because you fail to manage... Why did you NOT call for a squeeze with runners on first and third and Casilla, our ninth hitter up?????

Or with one out and span up with runners on 2nd and 3rd? MANAGER OF THE YEAR??? What a joke... you only got that award because Washington was using Coke at the start of the year...

I demand that Tom Kelly be brought back... we will always be ordinary as long as you are the manager... you are NOT A MAN... you blame the players when you fail to take the risks necessary to win... YOU ARE A LOSER and not a man!

I agree for the fact certain responsbilities will make us loose ballgames. But prior times before I think negative energy proved to be passenger-seat drivers , including umpires that noticeably cant slide into home plat head1st ect.

What to say. All of the other comments, right on.
Is this a pro team or a bunch of losers trying to play like pros.

All wrong.....a bunch of pro players with a little league manager at
the helm.

Even Ozzie(me no speak good English) won a world series .....what
does that say about our English speaking manager and his coaching
abilities in clutch games?

The Twins hitters are having an awful time. It's a miracle that the Twins have been able to win three games. Young's throw to the plate was beautiful and the only real highlight of the game for the Twins, aside from the generally excellent pitching. Dusty Hughes did a nice job getting the Twins out of a jam. Let's hope that the Twins can take Sunday's game, if it isn't rained out. The bats need to wake up.

Gardenhire has some sort of obsession with making a shortstop out of Casilla. The error tonight was costly, but Casilla has been good otherwise. Casilla has always seemed to be a better second baseman, and he's played second a lot more than short. Since no Twins are hitting, Casilla's bat shouldn't be criticized just yet. He's also getting shorted an at-bat every game with the necessity of pinch hitting for him.

I am helping to pay for that ballpark, but I will never be able to afford a ticket. Thanks a lot to all you people who screwed me and will never meet me. I pay my taxes just like you, even though I only make a fraction of what some of you make. I guess that makes me not as important and easy to push around. I hope you enjoy your damn ballpark.
