Chicago White Sox top Los Angeles Dodgers 10-7

Full story: Chicago Tribune

The hot topic, so to speak, at U.S. Cellular Field this week has been the disappearance of the White Sox 's so-called home-field advantage that usually comes with warm weather.

In order to win the division the sox need to get a player like DeRosa and fit him in Getz spot because face it .250 aint cutting it. Thats the only way to spark the team and get offense. nuff said

While I wouldn't mind DeRosa (the dream love interest of many male Cub fans), you'd have to give up quite a bit to get him while Nix could replace Getz at 2B if needed...
Getz has been coming on and he's not the problem here.
Agreed!
The problem seems to lie increasingly with their unreliable relief, especially Linebrink, Gobble, and occasionally Dotel. They should just release Liney NOW, with Gobble soon to follow unless he starts 'eating up' some quality outings SOON!

Nice of the Dodgers to lay down for your pathetic crap team. Don't worry, we'll sweep you this weekend.

I wish the Cubs played in the AAAL Central, we'd already be 12.5 games up.

Don't let this win fool you, your garbage team will still finish 62-100. While we have the money and talent to swing some deals. The Cubbies will win the NL Central, the White Sox will not win the AAAL Central, actually you will finish last behind the Royals. Hell, we might have swept the Indians but they were much tougher than you rubes.

Remember Gobble is simply a lefties only guy. Lefties are hitting like .120 against him and righties like .480.

I like this team just as it is, and it seems to be back on the track. The only losses in the last few games were due to managerial blunders.
It looked tonight that Gobble might be hanging around Linebrink too much,
But the second round should be all in our favor as the kids will be adjusted by then, and then look out.
We gained on the Twins and that is fine, just take them one at a time, and then beat Detroit ourselves.
You can't depend on a team that has not won a world Series for over a century, so we will do it ourselves, and that's the way to do it anyway, we don't want to back into nothin'

Dude, the NL Central is the weakest division in baseball. Minnesota would win the entire NL. Comparing the NL Central to the AL Central is like comparing the Big 10 and the MEAC. Your crap division is like 16 games under .500 against the AL.

Thanks for beating the Tigers for us...Oh and by the way, you would have lost 2 of 3 to Cleveland if it wasn't for the return of Kerry Wood. Didn't you all want him to return to the Cubs just a week earlier?

Well breaking out of their home drought with six home runs can mean only one thing, they will get shut out today.

If any of you watched the College World Series, you know that the Sox found a real keeper in Jared Mitchell. The kid is a great left handed bat with power, speed on the basepaths and good D in the outfield--genuine five skill player. Was awarded the MVP for the series. Very athletic, played on the national championship football team too. Yikes, I wonder what kind of signing bonus he's gonna want? Better pay it though, cause the kid's even better than Beckham. Just a load of raw talent and potential.

My ears still hurt from the sound of those Little League bats. Lets see how he plays real baseball before you build him a bust for the Hall of Fame.

Lack of baseball knowledge displayed by a Cubs fan. This is how stereotypes are formed. Quit giving your fellow knowledgeable Cub fans a bad reputation with your ignorance.

Agree with Sir Dragon of Mulberry..no help from the scrubs playing Detroit. So Sox just will take care of Tigers when we play them .Beckham is going to be a good ball player one day. But Fields at least is letting Sox know he can get it done .Beckham has got to start hitting or I'm sure he'll grab some bench. Good to see Wise starting to hit also. Hopefully Ozzie will play him more to see what he can do. Anderson has had allot of chances but still struggles at the plate.

chitown,

You are absolutely right about the Cubbies, now they face a great team like the Tigers and they know what the Sox have to deal with...

So bad that Maria Sharapova lost yesterday

Agree with almost all you said except Ozzie playing Wise more, he is a career minor leaguer and should not be on the roster.

Daily Horoscope for May 21

Leo

This is a great day for fixing things that have gone wrong. If there have been ructions in your relationship with a certain person this is when you can sort things out and get them back on track. If an appliance or gadget is going on the blink, this is your cue to either get it mended or chuck it out and replace it. You may also find time to tidy up your immediate surroundings or take all those bottles and papers to your nearest recycling center. How virtuous you'll feel when it's all done!
