That Cabrera can really run! It made the pitcher nervous into a wild throwing animal launching 2 wild pitches in a row.
And that managing job by Houston to put the winning run on base with no outs, instead of at least throwing him junk, makes me think that he Marlin style of managing in the last 3 or 4 years has infiltrated other teams.
It gives you a tremendous insight on what the league thinks of the hitters that the Marlins have following Cabrera who are usually unable to score unless they hit it over the fence. Houston did not think that the Marlins could put a bunt down or that any of the guys coming up could run fast enough to score or avoid hitting into a double play.

Ivew, Cabrera was intentionally walked with 2 outs, not 0 outs. It was probably the logical thing to do, considering Jacobs was 0 for his last 20.

...and the guy on the mound was a lefty, which Cabrera has hammered lefties this year, and Jacobs let them use that "lefty-lefty" situation.

Such a ridiculous thing to say when you consider that as of today the Marlins rank 3rd in Runs Scored, 2nd in 2b, 1st in 3b, 2nd in Total Bases, 2nd in Slugging, 5TH in OBP and 2nd in OPS. They're 3rd in HR's but most of them are of the bases empty variety. They're scoring runs many different ways then with a HR.

I swear Freddie Gonzalez probably carries the teams bags to the bus. After Olivo had an absolutely useless at bat in the 11th the camera man followed him back to the dugout and the manager of the team patted him on the butt as if to say don't worry about it. I don't care who you are major leaguers should know how to bunt!!!! I agree managers should not always be in the the players faces however, these guys are very very sloppy. How about the Carlos Lee error filled inside the parker. Come on Freddie grow a set over the off season. These guys need leadership!!!!

I was at this game. We were sitting in Club on the 1st base side and we could not see the play and had no idea what happened to the ball until several minutes after the game when they finally replayed it. Why don't they use those giant screens to show the live game? It would improve the experience.

So, could it be that Jacobs should not be batting clean up (PROTECTING CABRERA... COMMON?) now or anytime during the the season. But Fredi sees him as the guy to protect Cabrera yet Jacobs is another guy that has gotten worse this year rather than better. The sickness of this team that all these marginal players that need a hitting and fielding mentors, well ...
Who are these hitting and fielding mentors?

Jacobs was put into the clean up spot as soon as he returned from injury even though he was going to be platooned with Boone and even though he goes through streaks where he disappears from the HIT column and looks like the fat little kid next door that is learning how to use a bat and can't run when he makes contact and always gets caught in the bases for doing "nutty" things while trying to run. So why is this platooner hitting 4th everyday protecting one one of the Majors best hitters. If he was that good, then he would not be platooned and the whole things is contradictory. All of these Fredian Freudian slips but I guess it all goes with the fact that if the team's GM is Dave Samson the Uggla can bat #2 and Jacobs can bat clean up. As that song says: "ANYTHING GOES!!!"

Could it be possible that Fredi does not know how to make a line-up card and so he sees that Jacobs is big and strong and Tarzan looking and he automatically has to put him clean up. WHY IS JACOBS HITTING CLEAN UP instead of Willingham or even Uggla who is also an all or nothing guy but actually Uggla makes more contact than Jacobs.

Both Uggla and Willingham would protect Cabrera a bit better than Jacobs who is really more like a 6th or 7th hitter the way he plays most of the time. He does have 2 or 3 game streaks when he is ALL WORLD but that is a rarity.

I know this much that Uggla batting second is as wrong a second hitter as anyone in the majors, miscast, but Fredi sandwiches Uggla and Jacobs around Hanley and Cabrera the 2 best players sandwiched around 2 guys whose middle initial is K for you know what.

So could Girardi and McKeown and Fredi handle a pitching staff? NO ... and Fredi has had the additional injuries which the other two cheapest guys that money could buy did not have in 2003-2006

Can Fredi make a proper batting? OF COURSE NOT!
Did Fredi learn a lot from Bobby Cox? DOES NOT LOOK IT!

Oh, rather than spend all this frustrating time waiting for this young one dimensional players to develop .... would it not be better to have Wes Helms playing first base and hitting clean up than having this guy who if he develops into a decent hitter will be traded anyway??? Wes Helms is 10 times the player and the hitter than Mr. Jacobs is so why not try to keep him and bench Jacobs or send him to the minors for a couple of weeks or months.

The club was much better when Boone was not injured and playing first base. This guy Jacobs came back from injury reserve and was inserted in the clean up spot as if he was PAPI JACOBS or BRIAN HOWARD ... please, stop abusing the fans who might not be as smart as the Loria son in law but at least we know a duck when we hear the quack quack quack. It takes months for this manager to make a line up change and to see obvious crap that everybody sees.

Daily Horoscope for December 11

Libra

If someone owes you money and you're beginning to think that you'll never get it back, this is an excellent day to chase them up. They may not cave in straightaway but at least you'll have had your say and done what you can. Watch out for a tendency to lose your temper, because although this could be quite dramatic if you're usually the soul of equanimity it could work against you if you become aggressive or unpleasant.
