Full story: Baltimore Sun

As it turns out, the Orioles' 15-hit performance in a loss to the Los Angeles Angels on Sunday was not a breakout.

Back to 5 hits, another great pitching effort down the drain. Does that come under the title of rebuiding or just bad hitters on your team. I say it's the latter. Even Nick is starting to struggle, moving him around in the order is going to start playing with his head. This team has nothing to offer on offense. This is where the season starts going down hill . And the real shame about the whole hitting thing is they don't have a solution to the problem.Ramon gets worse every game , millar continues to slump where do we go from here.

If you go back a year, they were doing the same thing. If the team didn't score 3 runs, they lost. Substitute Scott and Jones for Tejada, and the offense is a little worse off.

I see another good effort from a young pitcher, a team that came through in the ninth to tie, and a team that is battling hard through a brutal stretch of road games. What's not to like?

Some "fans" are obsessed with winning. They're so silly. Who cares if the team wins?

It's time to find a big bat! AL pitchers aren't afraid of the O's line-up. Great pitching -no rewards. Crow needs to find a big bat now!

Although I was very encouraged by Olson's performance last night I am concerned about the lack of fundamentals that the Orioles have been displaying. Baserunning blunders, pitchers not covering first base, etc. They are not playing "winning baseball" as Trembley likes to say. They are finding ways to lose now. This is a rebuilding year so I am still encouraged about the competitiveness of the team however some guys clearly need to go. Ramon Hernandez is just going through the motions out there. He looks lazy and disinterested. Millar, although no doubt putting in a good effort, needs to go. Trachsel clearly must go. I would rather see young guys try hard and struggle then old veterans going through the motions. Let's continue this youth movement and plan for the future.

The O's are about where they should be, a .500 club.....at least they're not getting blown out...all part of the rebuilding process....you can get bats if needed, but pitching is a premium, and it "appears" as if the O's have a nice pitching nucleus to build on....let's see what happens in 2 years

Wait 2 years.. are you kidding or what? This team is pitiful and will be for along time to come. They need the obvious. I'm tired of waiting. What have they given us in 25 years ? NOTHING!!! What a joke.

I think Andy McP is doing a good job rebuilding this franchise. But this is an effort that takes time. If you want to know why the Orioles are not hitting, look at the lineup. There are no hitters. And look at the farm, all thre way down to Double AA Bowie. There are no hitters. Millar is in the four hole barely hitting above .200. Why not replace him? Because there is nobody to replace him with. The trades for Tejada and Bedard produced some decent pitching prospects. When you trade Roberts and PLEASE trade Roberts, get some hitting prospects this time.

It is amazing how Tremblay continues to pull starters who are doing very well.

I have been a fan for over 40 years and if you don't want to root for the O's, fine. If you are tired of waiting go root for the Nationals because we sure don't need your type of fair weather fan.

isn't necessarily the answer. you certainly would need more than "prospects" in return for him. you would need at least two young guys who are going to play every day and produce.

we need a DH so bad....

Anyone else wondering why Crowley still has a job?

I realize this team is lacking top notch hitters and it's not all about the W/L record this year, but I'm sick of seeing the same thing from hitters year in and year out.

We seem to change pitching coaches all the time yet Crowley sticks around.

I say it's time for a change there as well.

If this is re-building, when is ANY hitting going to be in sight? What a superb job by Olsen...with just about the level of run support expected at the beginning of the season. Who in this line-up will an opposing pitcher fear?

Even with the game on the line, pitchers can just pitch their game and we're done...no threats here. So where is the "re-building"? Pitching blooming...no pop in sight.

Give the A's pitcher credit, he pitched well. olsen ahd a nice outing, threw strikes!

I thought Trembley over mananged in the 7th, I question why Albers can't throw to more then one batter. I'd take the hard thrower over a crafty lefty any day. He should have been left in to finish the inning.

I also thought Trembley might PH for Hernandez in the 9th against their closer Street, but heard this morning Scott was sick?

They look good in their road uniforms.
