White Sox-Rays: Who has the edge in the ALDS?

The Rays starters have not been that dominate recently, while the Sox staff has come on. It's going to be pitching that wins this thing and I'll take the Sox starting staff against anyone in baseball right now. Now is the time to forget about pitch counts and how many days you've been rested. The Sox proved in 05 that pitching wins this thing and they will surprise the world in 08.

In 05 the Sox hit home runs. In 08 it's still all the do, just a whole lot less.

The supposed myth of the "Small ball" '05 Sox was counteracted by a real myth that was started by radio talking heads, saying they hit home runs.

The 2005 Sox were 2nd in all of baseball in non-pitcher bunts, took more extra bases than nearly all teams, were #2 in SB attempts, and won an obscene number of 1 run games.

The reality was that they could play small ball, did play it, and got good pitching, defense, and scored even with the HR. They did everything.

We'll see how this unpredictable team fares.

Sox pitching has come on????? Really? Like the 5 in a row they lost to almost blow it?

Games need to be played.All predictions are just that-predictions.

Big advantage for Sox is lack of playoff experience for Rays. The other difference is that seven of the playoff teams have a passionate fan base and then you have Tampa Bay.

When the Sox do lose to Tampa we will have to hear all the players and The Mouth of the South stress how they were not expected to go to the playoffs so it is ok if they choke. They suck their fans suck and the mangers should be put down.

How much longer do we have before we start hearing the usual Cub fan rants? "Our stadium is better", "Our team is better because more people come to see our stadium" etc. etc. I'm guessing Sunday.

And choke is when you're favored to win and blow it. The Cubs are the favorite this year, and overwhelmingly to get out of the NL. If they lose, it will be a huge choke job. When the Sox were the favorites, they won, lets see what the Cubs do

Whew!! That was a close one. 89 wins is all it took -huh? It's been 3 years getting another chance at the WS. Look for AJ, Dye, and Konerko to come up huge in the ALDS and ALCS. Anybody who thinks the Rays will give the Sox more trouble than the Twins - you don't know this team. The 45 year old monkey died last night. We beat the Twins in a play in game 1-0.
Who would have dreamed up that? The storyline after Mondays sweep - will be: " Gee! What happened to the Rays pitching? ""

Someone tell me why Minnesota is not in the playoffs and the white sox are ???? The Twins record was the same and they also beat the Sox in the season seris, so you tell me by haveing a coin toss gives them the right to even play a game. Someone also needs to investigate Cliff Lee, also investigate why the Detroit Tigers pichers all were wild , or could it be they were impersonating the 1919 BLACK SOX . Ozzie has to be the worst manager ever

The Rays don't really have any fans. But neither do the Marlins, and they have won it twice in the last 15 years. Although Comiskey looked impressive last night, it probably isn't that important. Anyway, who gives a crap what I think. GO SOX!
