Orioles players and management knew that by handing the ball over to a youth movement this season, especially for the perpetually brutal second-half schedule, the club's win-loss record could end up unseemly.
This team has been built on excuses. Every failure has an associated excuse. Winning has become secondary. Down the road, The Nats have found a way to win with a new manager. According to local talk show hosts, the Orioles have better personnel on paper than the Nats. The Nats do not use a lot of excuses. Maybe it is time for the Orioles to either trade for or develop a leader on this team.
