Gardenhire produced a good order of operation for the bullpen last night: Breslow, Crain, and Nathan. In one run ball games, Breslow and Crain could be the guys called upon to do the job before getting to Nathan. Slowey didn't get blown out, but he didn't pitch that well, either. It could be that rather than Redmond or Mauer calling pitches, the rookie Morales has just about all that he can handle, and it isn't exactly going well for him. It's good that he's getting the playing time and that the Twins are winning. Hopefully, he will relax and begin to play better. Getting his first hit this season will undoubtedly make a positive difference. Right now, it appears that the kid is simply trying too hard. It's funny how the Twins almost look as if they never had spring training. They're still, in a sense, getting ready for the season. It's good news because once the Twins get the engine going and get Mauer and Baker back, they have a great chance of winning the division. What we're seeing now is that fighting spirit. The Twins don't like to lose.

The next time the Twins don't offer a veteran a lucrative, long-term contract, remember Silva. Seattle is paying him way too much money to pitch badly and lose most of his starts. I am very gald to see Morneau get untracked. He is the core of the Twins and the team has got to have him playing well.

Why watch a team with a manager the likes of Brad Childress? He will only lead you to a heart broken end of season drama laiden finish......where we get our butts whiped on the final game....AGAIN folks. I nor many folks want to go through that CR*P again & again & again. Don't we want a real playoff push........and championship finally every season like so many other teams who have made a managerial change? Fire him NOW!

And, getting whipped in the last game? You mean that 1-0 blow out win. And finally, are you talking about all the great World Championship teams that have changed managers in the last 2 years? Baltimore, Kansas City, New York Yankees (missed the playoffs for the 1st time in 13 years), Oakland, Seattle, Texas, Toronto, Chicago Cubs, Cincinnati, Florida, Houston, LA Dodgers, Milwaukee, NY Mets, Pittsburgh, San Diego, San Francisco, and Washington. That makes 18 teams that changed managers in the prior 2 seasons. Only 3 made the playoffs. None won the World Series. Nice theory, though!!

Dickey provides useful data. Changing the management does not necessarily win a championship. Most of the teams Dickey mentions have also spent a lot of dough on proven talent, and it hasn't paid off. Good managers make the most of what they have. Gardenhire gets the most out of his players and fosters a team atmosphere where all the players can contribute. The Twins' players seem to be very happy wearing Twins uniforms. As the young talent develops, we'll see whether Gardenhire can continue to get the most out of the team. Those who wish to be critical of Gardenhire should at least wait until the end of the season.

Good thing Slowey made it through six innings, even when he didn't have his pitches. I love how the Twins battle and don't give up when they're behind.

Look at it this way folks..... this year Gardy looks a LITTLE bit fatter
meaning there is more pressure for him to win big and he is craming his brains out on what to do to get the Twins to the next level....which he HASN'T!
Everyone here wants Mediocrity and that sounds weired because Gardy has NEVER led a team PAST the FIRST Round. PERIOD.....and all this wasted time too.
It's the GOOD O' BOYS club......AKA Timberwolves style of management. Looke where they are now and there is no end in sight for how many decades!
FIRE HIS A** Now!!
P.S. Respond to this a MUST :)

Gardy has NEVER led a team PAST the FIRST Round...It's the GOOD O' BOYS club...FIRE HIS **** Now!! You're on an island with the Gardy rant...all alone. Baseball doesn't have revenue sharing in the way the NFL does. Major market teams (NY, LA, Boston) can buy their talent....for the most part, the Twins develop their talent. The Twins have a solid, young pitching staff, a handful of stars (Mauer, Morneau, Nathan, Span), an excellent pitching coach (Anderson), and Gardy. If you don't like the product, don't watch!

Respond to this a MUST :) In 2002, the Twins defeated the A's 3 games to 2 in the ALDS. Look, I am not being delusional about this. I know they have only won one playoff series in 7 seasons with Gardy, but they have made the playoffs 4 of those years and just missed last season. This is a good record in baseball. Just remember, only 25% of the teams make the playoffs in baseball, whereas 37.5% make playoffs in the NFL, and 53.3% of the teams in the NBA & NHL.
