No it is not a great thread - it should be a thread where Mets fans could discuss their team and the hopes and worries of the second half - the fact that you are here EVERYDAY to taunt and stir things up is a sad comment on you and your maturity level. I couldn't imagine taking the time to go over to a Yankees board and bring up crap over there - but that's because I have a marriage and a family and a successful career and only take the time to discuss the team that I love and root for (warts and all) the New York Mets. But you obviously live for this taunting - I guess they dont let you in the schoolyard anymore to tease the handicapped. Here's to a good second half. Go Mets!

Sounds like you're saying that Met fans are "the handicapped". That would explain a lot.

....and who cares about your career and family? I don't.

Another true Mets fan!! We need more of you here! You are so right on ALL counts!!! However, judging from the irrelevant comments that idiotic, inane ignoramus just posted , you seem to have struck a chord. He truly does remind me of one of those taunting, menacing schoolyard bullies we were warned to avoid by our moms in elementary school. Anybody who attempts to comment to him in a meaningful (AND ADULT WAY!!), as you have will incur his rath. I cannot believe the arrogance (or is it ignorance?) he has to come after fans by hurling his ruthless, insulting, inappropriate comments, that, at most times, make absolutely no sense.
Maybe if enough of us normal fans flag his comments enough, the censors will see him for the total buffoon he appears to be, and ban him from posting his immature jibberish.

To educate you, I will let you know why people come to this site to bring light to the NY MU TS shortcomings.
It stems from NY MESS fans going to other teams sites to taunt. The fan of the NY MATS are experts at making excuses for their team and, like children, try to demean other teams to bring them down to their level with all kinds of accusations an skewed facts.
When it is brought to light that the NY MU TS have far more problems and failures than other teams, the NY MU TS fans cry and want to censor the writers.
Thats what drew me to the MU TS site. I figured I would give the MU TS fans some of their own logic aas it relates to their team.
And guess what? The great MU TS fan critiquers can't take their own logic as it applies to their team. Everything I write is in relation to what MU TS fans say about other teams , but nI apply it to the MU TS.
The crybaby MU TS fans can't take it. I understand that winning only one World Series in 39 years is frustrating. With the last WS win being 23 years ago, but go to other sites and see how the MU TS fans taunt and ridicule other teams and their fans.
I don't taunt. I state facts and the MU TS fans can't take it. They hate their own logic as it applies to their team. Thats a phony.
3 games under .500.... 6.5 games out of first....4th place... I can see the frustration.

You dummy. The Mets call themselves Los Mets - they even put it on the uni. Look behind home plate: they advertise their website with "losmets.com " - no other team does that.

You cannot deny that the majority of their players, managers, coaches, medical staff, front office, etc. from the major league team down to low A ball is Hispanic despite having virtually no track record, experience, or know-how. Sounds racist to me!

The losmets moniker that fans use to criticize the team is more indicative of their frustration with this politically correct-chosen regime, which has resulted in one disappointing playoff exit, 2 historic collapses, a currently awful and boring team that doesn't like themselves much, an awful AAA team with no prospects, an awful AA team with no prospects, and at least 2 awful A teams.

Let's throw in the Wash. Nationals too - another team decimated by Omar's legacy.

No mas los mets.
Omar must go.

Good Article. Unbiased reporting. Good to see that. I still believe the METS will come back. It wasn't too many years ago when the METS were down 7 and half games and came back. Two and half more months of baseball here. LETS GO METS!!
PS Yankee have an hispanic website also. Yankee beisbol.com

"Strip thier Farm System for a top player in a trade????"

Yeah...lets get a top player for:
1)The current kid stiff in CF, Fernando Martinez
2)Kid Stiff of 2007: Lastings Milledge
3)Mid-Level Stiff: Mike Pelfrey
4) Other Stiffs: Alex Ochoa, The GenX pitchers, Shawn Abner

The list of overhyped, pathetic AAA Superstars in this organization since The Tampons bought the team back from Doubleday is INCREDIBLE......

If Jeff Francouer is the hope of the season, we're cooked. I have no idea why anyone would get excited over this first two games here, when he has a much longer sample size that proves he's a far below average major league hitter, particularly for a corner outfielder. Francouer's strike zone judgment is egregious and, even at this best, he made far too many outs. Over the past three seasons his power--his long suit--has dramatically declined. Ryan Church is a better baseball player than Francouer; he gets on base more often and the two are about even in power now. Francouer also tends to hit flyballs, not a good thing when your new home ballpark consumes flyballs for outs. This trade made Atlanta, a team with a better pitching staff than the Mets, better. If we finish third and near .500, we'll be fortunate.

By July 27th, the Mets will be playing meaningless games, 10+ games out...I've been a Met fan since 1962 & this presently constructed team makes me sick...Met fans must face reality, this team is a train wreck ...all Omar knows is how to over-spend on FA's..anyone can spend $, but it takes brains to put together a team with youth & a vision..until this entire mgmt. team is replaced, this franchise will never win anything...

well its easier to call names and point fingers at the 26 time champion yankees. the wilpons lost over 700 million dollars to madoff, jeff wilpon has told reporters there will be no change in the GM or manager until at least the end of next year, by then attendance will be down, and they will be looking for someone to buy the team - mlb is helping a few teams - the texas rangers are broke, the cubs may file bankruptcy, the diamondbacks and padres are getting loans as well. by the time a new owner is put into place and they put thier own people in, it may be a few years, a number of players - santana for one, hates playing for los mets, look for him to ask to be traded very soon
