Methinks the trip to Houston from D.C. was quiet and reflective for a grade A team that just suffered a drubbing at the hands of a grade C team. As you are aware, the Astros are a spirited bunch of youngsters who’ve not yet learned the dismal ways of losing, having won most of their games since shedding most of their veterans (and 6 of their last 10). Hopefully, if only for self-serving ends, our Cardinals will make a good showing and come away with 2-out-of-3.

The 2010 Cards seem to specialize in beating good teams but at the same time, lose to a lot of mediocre & REALLY BAD teams. Oh, well....good luck tommorrow night! 6 games up, & counting!(k.o.w.)

Aye, the Reds are certainly a Grade A team and will certainly win the division. The fact that the second place team is in a slump does not, by any stretch of the imagination, make them less than Grade A. When his team is down (and, eventually, it will be),it will not make "reds_fan" any less of a fan that it would represent cause to fill me with bile and venom.

Thank you, "MarkinCincy", for the good will. You're a class act and there can be no doubt that you're not a bandwagon fan; filled with bombast and bluster. The fact of the matter is this: If the Reds play .500 ball the rest of the way, the Cardinals would have to go 22-12 (.647) to win the Central and the Wild Card will be the team that loses the NL East. It certainly looks as though we're out and you're in: Congratulations!

The Cards could catch on fire & take over the wild card spot, and could squeak in! That's a tough row to hoe, though, considering St. Louis has NO remaining days off after this Thursday. EEK! 31 straight games w/o a break! That's hell on Earth for ANY pitching staff!
