This entire meaningless tournament is just another money grab by the owners and the union. Look at the injuries, which are already being played down. Boston lost two All-Stars, David Wright got hurt and then played through the injury in a nonsensical game. K-Rod is being abused. This is just ridiculous. Kill this stupid tournament right now. If the WBC can't be killed, then kill Selig and Fehr.

Here's a more economic means to end your pain... go kill yourself.

Two years ago there was speculation that Wright's participation in the home-derby at the All-Star game contributed to him fading in the 2nd half. Now he is playing hurt and it's only March. One of the points of spring training -- where players are under the eye of their coaches and trainers -- is to gradually bring players up to form for the regular season gradually. "Ready to go the first week of April" is their only concern? Wright and the Mets should be taking steps now to ensure that he is ready for baseball in October.

Daily Horoscope for December 19

Gemini

Maybe it's pre-Christmas tension but people can turn nasty in the blink of an eye today. This is especially likely if they've got a lot on their plate or they think they're very important, and you may have to treat them with kid gloves if you want to avoid getting sucked into a bad-tempered war of words. Some gentle humor may help to rescue the situation before it descends into acrimony.
