Tigers trot out grand ending

Full story: Baltimore Sun

It certainly was not the spot Sam Perlozzo wanted for Kurt Birkins, but with all his other options in the bullpen exhausted at that point, the Orioles' manager had no choice.

I am still waiting for the Orioles to get rid of Terry Crowley. The players may like him but the stats speak for themselves the Orioles are not a very good hitting team that lacks dicspline at the plate. We keep hearing how their better hitters then this. If thats the case why are they not HITTING................Maybe a hitting coach who has a few answeres would help.153

I disagree that the manager lost the game or handled the pitchers poorlt. If we had a
lineup thar exercised plate discipline and worked pitchers deeper into the count and
got more base on balls we would score more runs. Millar is one of the few players on the team with any sense of plate discipline and he gets constantly ripped by posters. If they had more batters like Millar and Markakis the pitcher's pitch count
would accumulate faster and the Orioles would have more success. This same flalling away at the plate is why they leave so many runners stranded.
