In other words, keep AAA's best hitter, the guy who was leading in all triple crown numbers on the bench, not helping at all. Right Lou?

The biggest problem with the Cubs, is the old guy they got sitting on the bench calling the shots. He has a team with some of the worse offensive numbers in baseball, especially the last month or so, yet because his players are veterans with humongously overpaid contracts, Pinella justifies sitting younger players on the bench, so these overpaid guys having awful seasons can continue to play. Doesn't make a lick of sense to me. Tell these guys they'll still get their overpaid contracts Pinella; however, you're going to give players who appear to be better hitters a chance to help win some ballgames. You're the boss Pinella, but your main job is to win ballgames for the Chicago Cubs, not pacifying players egos.

So Aramis won't be back until the beginning of July? It's going to be a very long month without that bat.

Just let Fox play third and Fontenot play 2B and stop making excuses. I'm so tired of hearing them from Piniella, especially when you're facing LHP after LHP and Fox kills them.

The situation might change when Miles and Freel come back? They both are terrible and completely useless. When Freel comes back he should be immediately released since his batting average is lower than my elementary student son's weight. Miles can't hit the ball out of the infield and looks like a Little Leaguer when he swings.

Can't this team make any good decisions? I'm waiting for the trade deadline, when we trade some of our only good players (like Fox) for more worthless relievers (like Vizcaino, grade trade there) or washed up bench players, instead of undoing the damage caused by Hendry's dumb decisions this offseason. Doesn't anyone hold management accountable for their decisions, or does everyone just not care?

Keep up the great work, guys!!!

Blaming Piniella for the failures of the cubs farm system is dumb. If the farm system keeps producing 2 dimensional players that either can't play defense or hit then how is Piniella going to fix this when they reach the majors.

Fox is trying to learn how to play an infield position in the MAJORS, after spending years in the cubs farm system, now trammel has to tutor him? This is comical.

Hendry has too many buddies running the cubs farm system and who are not getting the job done. Look at Patterson, Pie, Patterson 2, the foul up with Theriot and Fontenot, Hoffpaur, and on and on. Every player the cubs have comes to the majors either playing out of position or not able to play their position at all.

Lou seems to be the only one on the team that can recognize talent and try and get it on the field. Lou is trying to get Hoffpaur and Fox in the lineup, and to give other young players a chance, but he also has to play the big budget busts hendry signed like soriano. So he has to over come hendry's bad deals and the cubs farm systems poor talent evaluation and incomplete player development. And the cubs are now paying Oneri Fleito to fly all over the world and do nothing, just to get him away from running the farm system.

None of the players Hendry developed while running the cubs farm system are playing on the team. Hee sop choy anyone? How did hendry ever get to be farm team director let alone gm? If he hadn't of overspent on free agents to hide all his mistakes he would have been fired by now. This is what you get when you don't have an owner that knows or cares about baseball.

How about Soriano even up for Peavy?

Yeah, by all means, let's get Peavy. We could sure use another pitcher serving up gopher balls at Wrigley. Just in case you haven't noticed, we don't play at Petco.

It doesn't matter where Peavy pitches, he'd be a great pitcher...
The guy above seemed to think the Cubs could obtain Peavy for Soriano.

Yeah, that was you. Do you always talk about yourself in the third person? Are you Bob Dole?

That's funny and I know what you mean.
But I was mocking the guy above me (and you know it.)
