Lou knows how to manage heavy favorites come playoff time. He took the Seattle team that went 116-46 into the playoffs and, oops, bad example.

If the Cubs play their game, they'll get it done because they are better than the teams they will be playing.

Unfortunately, the outcome can not be determined by a coin toss like a certain other team's fate was. That team's luck is about to run out.

Just watch. The "bullpen", such as it is, will kill the Cubs in the end.

I know it's being like a broken record, for those who remember what records are, but given the bullpen numbers for September why was Howry put on the post-season roster? Why hasn't anyone at the Trib pressed Lou on this question?

That didnt make any sense. Are you referring to the white sox? What kind of statement is "If the Cubs play their game, they'll get it done because they are better than the teams they will be playing". What happens if they dont play their game? Does that mean they will not get it done? Get what done?

I'd sure feel more comfortable if the Cubs were playing the Mets instead. It's too bad that Pinella didn't put more stock into the consequences of not playing the Brewers strongly the final game. Oh well, it's the Dodgers now like it or not. I just hope the Cubs offense shows up, as that's much more of a concern imo, than the pitching is.

What a surprise that insecure bitter sox fans are posting here as well.

Didn't "their team" just back into the playoffs? Shouldn't they be commenting there? nah, they're too obsessed with the CUBS. Typical.

Anyway, on to the only thing that matters in Chicago baseball....the CUBS. This series should be good. The ONLY team that can beat the Cubs right now is the Cubs themselves. Just play like they have all year and this will be fun.

While solid pitching is always the key to success, timely hitting will take this club far. 4 runs per game should bring the Cubs the championship we've been waiting for

Sounds like you will need flashcards to understand what he was trying to say. Another surprise???

Don't blame Bartman. The reason the Cubs lost in '03 was because I watched the playoffs alive...fresh off of a quadruple heart bypass.

If the Sox and Cubs both make it to the World Series, have a glass of Cuervo on the rocks in my memory.

that also did not make any sense..how would flash cards make me understand anything better. I didnt even come on here to root for the sox. I dont really even care. Im a tigers fan, and they suck. I just usually like to read peoples "explanations". There doesnt seem to be any relevant info though. Not about players, or game situations or anything of the sort. Maybe I will just put on a cubs jersey and say, Go Cubs Go 20 times. Then I will be a fan, and only then will I understand.

You're absolutely correct, flashcards wouldn't help you a bit.
