I am an avid Red Sox fan but I will not stoop to the level of bashing the guy for trying to do what he needed to to win. You have to believe that George was a winner and who doesn't want to win? May he rest in peace. GO SOX!

I wonder how many people who vilified Steinbrenner's free market approach to MLB are staunch free-market Republicans.

Not gonna end anytime soon though, look to the Yanks eliminating Texas in the ALCS then sweeping whomever comes out of the N.L. It's what Bud Selig thinks will save baseball.

The Yankees SUCK For your information, Alex Rodriguez was acquired in a trade with the Texas Rangers and he did not come cheaply. They had to part with slugger/base stealer Alfonso Soriano and prospect Joachin Arias who now appears to be coming into his own with the Rangers.
