Is Jake Fox not capable of playing left field?

I would love to see the Cubs without Soriano for 15 days!!!
Maybe Milton Bradley (1-8 since his promise to "be back") can dislocate a finger??? Or catch a cold??? Please???

Let me begin by saying I hate that Lilly is hurting because the cubs cannot afford to lose him for any period o time.

Let me also say there is a God. Anything that keeps Soriano from playing is good for this team. Maybe the cubs will go on one heck of a hot streak now that he is out for a few games. I don't wish injury on anyone just out of spite, but this guy gives about 8% for this teama so I don't care one bit if he is injured.

Yeah, now I remember. Soriano, the $138 million, eight year contract ball player had his head up his you-know-what after hitting a single last night, wasn't paying attention to what was clearly happening in front of him as the announcers duly noted and got his butt tagged out trying to get back to first.

Soriano's injury isn't even worthy of mentioning in the same story with a selfless player like Ted Lilly who didn't even tell the All-Star manager he wasn't full strength.

What a freakin' joke of a player.

sounds like nothing serious for Sori .... could be a blessing in disguise .... sit a few more days and get an extended mental break

hopefully Lilly can keep going and it is nothing serious, he is the last guy we need to lose right now

Thanks for that article "shouldhavegotten abreau". After reading it, I looked at Bobby Abreu's stats this season. As you know, the Cubs could of had this guy for half of what they are paying Bradley. Well, if you compare his numbers this year with the entire Cubs team, he is leading (or tied) with all of their starters in the categories of RBI (58), OBP (.401), SB (19), BB (51), RUNS (48)and AVG (.305). He has also played in 82 games without an injury.

Milton Bradley $10,000,000 in 2009.
Bobby Abreau $5,000,000 in 2009.

Jim Hendry... YOU SUCK!!!

This season is a wash.
They should try to unload some people in exchange for top prospects in the next couple weeks.
Shift gears, Hendry

This season was a wash, but with sorrywhiffo out of the lineup for a few days, it's time to make a run. Think about it, you will have a capable left fielder playing left field, maybe someone who can actually make contact and have somewhat situational hitting, and oh yeah, it'll either be Hoff or Johnson, and both are complete team players...unlike that joker Sorrypinkie.

As well as Houston has been playing the last few weeks, I wonder if the Cardinals dont fear them more than Milwaukee or Chicago.

Soriano's washed up.

The only people who can't see that are Cubs management and a sizeable portion of their clueless fans.

Sorrino needs some time off. While he is resting....maybe he could practice his Dominican "hop". He likes to hop. Hoping helps him catch de fly ball....berry berry good to him.

Soriano missing a few games does not constitute a "woe". And did I read this right -- his goal this year is to stay off the DL "no matter whatever else happens"? Nice.

You might be right.

Houston's as good as Milwaukee and Milwaukee's quite a bit better than the Cubs.

The schedule is so screwed up this year.. The Cardinals are going to Houston Monday FOR THE FIRST TIME THIS SEASON.

Quit whining. Baseball Prospectus ran down lost time to injuries during the first half. The Cubs weren't even close to the worst case.

Just in case someone on the team is reading this, please do whatever you can to shake Soriano's hand or slap him five or accidently bump his hand.

Collectively as a team, you can keep his pinky inflamed and keep him out of the lineup indefinitely.

Now that's team spirit!
