Dreadlock fans motto "better to have a "CHEATER" and win then a classy hard working team and lose"

Ryan Franklin (STL) 2009 All Star
Guillermo Mota (LA)
Mike Cameron (MIL)
Jose Guillen (KC)
J.C. Romero (PHI)- suspended first 50 games this year (helped the Phillies defeat the Dodgers last year in playoffs and win the World Series)

All of these players were suspended by MLB, too. Many, many others (Alex Rodriguez, Roger Clemens, Gary Matthews Jr., etc) have not been suspended, but have admitted to using, or have strong lins to the drug.

I'm not defending Manny Ramirez, but don't act like he is one of a few "cheaters".

How about Gaylord Perry, HOF pitcher that threw a spitball well after it was illegal. don Sutton was accused numerous times of scuffing the ball,

Players corked bats, sharpened spikes, and did a number of other things to get an edge.

Manny Ramirez is a likable character, that is why he is fawned over. The Dodger players like him and he has been good here.

Compare that to Barry Bonds, who was not liked by teammates and was aloof.

So it's only cheating if you are caught? So Mark McGwire, Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens, Rafael Palmeiro, Sammy Sosa, etc. are not cheaters?

Perry admitted numerous times that he threw spitballs, greaseballs, and Vaseline balls. He was ejected on August 23, 1982 for throw two illegal pitches. Look it up.

No but I do believe "Innocent until provin guilty", Our prisons have many Innocent people locked up.
Look if Bonds or any of the rest are proven guilty, their records should NOT COUNT and NEVER be alowed into the Hall of Fame, just as Mannys and the rest of the Cheaters records should noty count !
Man I'm old school, remember Gibson, Mays, Sandy, Stan the Man... those guys were true ballplayers... played for the love of the game.

I'm glad you brought up Bob Gibson, because he answered honestly when questioned about steroids on an episode of Costas Now a few years ago. He said that had he had the chance, he thinks he would have used steroids.

And here is Mike Schmidt's quote from that show:
"Let me go out on a limb and say that if I had played during that era I would have taken steroids... We all have these things we deal with in life, and I'm surely not going to sit here and say to you guys,'I wouldn't have done that.'"

Hate to burst your bubble, but players back then would have done steroids if they were available. Anything for an edge.

It isn't that Bonds, Ramirez, etc. don't love the game, they just aren't willing to give it up when they are no longer able to compete at a high level.

This is the most extensive chronology of MLB and Minor League Drug Violations I have come across.

There was a report that Chris Young, the pitcher from the San Diego Padres, called Manny a cheater, no black and white about it.

I find it funny that there is a good chance he will be throwing to catcher Eliezer Alfonzo when Young gets off the disabled list.

Alfonzo was suspended 50 games in 2008 for testing positive for PED's.
