He had better keep throwing no hitters, as the Twins got only 1 run to help him out. No one else on the team is doing anything except maybe Kubel.

Great no-hitter for Frankie. Just what the doctor ordered. Good D by Valencia and Span too.

Congrats to Liriano for his no no.
However, it is only one game in what has been an awful start for the Twins. If they don't turn things around by May 15th, its gonna be a very, long, long summer at Target Field.

Might want to rewrite this one for the final edition:
"After a foul ball, Dunn lined out to Tolbert as Liriano and his Twins teammates celebrated at the mound."

I think the celebration actually started after the line out.

Someone probably chewed his arse off and it wasn't
the "my pet friend" manager or the "boy from next door" M & M boys.

Or he just was sick and tired of the Twins and wanted to showcase to other teams to trade for him since the coaches can't motivate these millionaires anymore.

It was sloppy, but it was a Twins victory. Does it mean that Liriano will be in the running for the Cy Young Award this season? Hardly. It was surprising to see Gardenhire stick with Liriano, and wise of Gardenhire. Like the Twins, the White Sox don't seem to be playing with much enthusiasm. Maybe the no-hitter will help keep them cooled off and ramp up things on the Twins' end. It's almost a certainty that Gardenhire and just about everyone else expected Slowey to take Liriano's spot in the rotation. Now, it won't be so easy to demote Liriano, and Slowey is all stretched out as a starter but will be heading for the bullpen.

This no-hitter is one of the less impressive ones in MLB history - 6 walks, only 2 strikeouts, and Liriano's first complete game in 95 starts?!! Weak.

Dwight Gooden 1996 NY Vs. Mariners. 6 walks and 5 K's. They both count! I agree it's not the best but it's a No Hitter according to MLB. Its amazing people always try to find fault in something positive.

So let me get this straight. Gardy actually got on Liriano? Can't be. He NEVER does that.

Perfect time to trade him, his value will never be higher than it is right now. Congrats and all that, but what a fluke.

April was a tough month for the Twins, the worst in fact, and you guys are nay saying a no no! Fire Gardy, really? With the #$&@ he's had to endure this season, you'd better give the team and Liriano all the credit due for this AWESOME acomplishment done did tonight. How can anyone belittle an accomplishment that hasn't been done by any pitcher for the Twins in 20 years? Go Twins, send your tickets to me!

Still a TWINS FAN here and can see a bit of light at the end of the tunnel....Makes no difference at the end of a "no-hitter" that the pitcher struck out only two batters...He and the team allowed not a single runner to reach base on a hit ball...Congratulations to the whole team....An example of the team not giving up on each other....Good things come from wins like this one...Keep it up men....

I agree. the Twins should trade him TODAY why his value is up for everyone else knows that he will revert back to his old self and suk the rest of this season. Trade hi as the saying goes........

Way to go Liriano. Great pitching. Too bad there was no run support.
I think Pavano hitting the trash can with a bat, should start hitting players.
Get there complete and undivided attention.
Great play by Valencia & Casilla.

If Liriano could simply keep his pitches down as he did against the White Sox (three double plays), and throw strikes when he really wanted to, he could win a lot of games for the Twins. His control and command will always be an issue with him.

Someone made a nice comment about the team effort behind Liriano. It's certainly true that Liriano's teammates were behind him. Valencia's backhand play and Span's running catch were both exceptional.
