I guess Carroll is batting second because he has the highest average on the team and is currently batting about .500 since he took over the second base job. Outside of that, the Tribe's problem is a poor hitting approach, i.e. in the ninth inning two hitters struck out on ball four pitches. In every one of Garko's at bats he swung like a little leaguer. Their pitcher wasn't exactly blowing people away, or hitting the corners. Come on, put on your thinking caps!

Blah, Blah, Blah same old spin. Mark Shapiro built a 3 leg table (Grady, Vic, Hafner). Two of those legs are missing. Shapiro knew Hafner was suspect coming into this year and did NOTHING to augment this line for the THIRD off season in a row. The only half vet consistant hitters have been Grady and Blake. For some reason Wedge thinks hitting them 6-7 positions apart is a good thing. Grady now follows Shoppach or Fasano. Wonder why we dont't score, Duh!

byrd has been killing us...every 5th start is a guaranteed loss. trade him to a 'contender' that is looking for an innings eater....heck, who cares if we get anything back for him - just get the salary relief.

Wow! We didn't make any off-season moves because we had a team that came within one victory of going to the World Series. Now, we have so many holes, Shapiro doesn't know where to start. They may blame this season on injuries, but Hafner didn't hit most of last season, either. Asdrubal couldn't hit his weight up here, and now he's tearing the cover off the ball in Buffalo. Field management is ineffective. Get rid of Shelton and Wedge, and bring in people that can reach these guys. This is not a fun team to watch. Ticket sales will plummet next season.

Watching minor league play would be more exciting then watching this team.
Heck, when they stuck in the old days they were more interesting than this team.
Gomer Hodges, anyone.

The good thing for me is I ONLY have 6 more games I HAVE to go to because I bought a 20 game package. I just hope Lee, Sabathia (if he still is here) and Laffey are pitching on those days! It may be exciting then! If not, I'll do like they did last night, take my sleeping bags. The kids probably didn't sleep on the field, because they got their rest during the game!!

That's what happens when you go off the juice. Same with Hafner.

I suspect it would be easier gettin' steroids legalized than it would be to find a team that would want to pick up Byrd. Face it. We're stuck with him.

''We had some chances and let them slip away,'' manager Eric Wedge said.''We didn't do a particularly good job against their pitcher.''

At least Wedge is consistent during his daily post-game interview. Here's a brilliant marketing idea...a Wedge bobblehead doll with a string, just give it a pull and hear his excuse for losing...over and over and over and over and...

And last night was money give away night. Maybe if they give $10 per person with a $100,000 grand prize, fans will be ok with watching this exciting offense.

I realize that. But,whenever I tune into a game on STO via the internet, and they show the score and summary, it's always, Grady Sizemore "solo home run". Rarely a multi run homer. Shouldn't Carroll be leading off? He knows how to walk as well.

The Dolans are cheap, but how many teams in the bottom third in attendance go out and spend money?

Daily Horoscope for January 7

Aquarius

Avoid making promises today, or even believing in other people's promises. Today is not a good day to make commitments, as they are not likely to materialise. Taking risks is a no-no. Try to relax until the numbers are in your favour. Those pursuing their career will benefit.
