Rowand greets his former Sox mates

Full story: Chicago Tribune

Interleague play led to some interesting greetings Friday night at AT&T Park. Former Sox outfielder Aaron Rowand playfully called Sox hitting coach Greg Walker a "hillbilly" before hugging Walker and eventually ...

Nice to see Floyd get the win even though he didn't have his best stuff and on such a cool night it was what?...82 degrees!! and Rameriez has to have one of the most effortless swings on the Sox, that homerun he hit looked like he was stroking a single!. No truth to the matter that when he got back to the dugout he yelled "I Gotta Cookie!!!". Now if we can only beat the vaunted National League West pitching (How's Colorado & San Deigo & San Fransisco's record looking again?......Oh yeah just as bad as Detriots!) and keep it going for Buehrle as he faces that pitching dynomo known as Barry Zito!. We might get back into 1st, seeing as were only a .500 team at best and Cleveland with its new scoreless innings streak facing the juggernaut known as the Cincinnati Reds. But then again the tools who inhabit the boards can't see that what with Kenny signing all the over 40 guys like Jim Edmonds & Claudio Vargas and how the team's ERA dropped to 3.66 good for 4th in the league because they face all these teams at the right time instead of the fact that their that good!.

If you would have told me that the Sox would be guaranteed to go .500 on this trip I would have said you were nuts. They can do no worse now. Considering their track record on the left coast this feels like an 8 game winning streak.

Is anyone else tired of seeing Thome? Why did Ozzie put him in as a pinch hitter when two guys were on...and what did he do? The usual! He's what I call "buzz kill!"

Hendry for the Cubs signed Jim Edmonds, and he's 37. Claudio Vargas? Uh, who knows where he's at these days and more importantly who cares?

What I do want know is are you sharing that stuff you're smoking?

That's strange, on this very site in the weather section it says the high was 62 and at night it was in the 50s.
Funny, according to MLB & ESPN the game time tempeture was 82, Now if you can scroll to the bottom of each box score you'll see not only the tempeture, but length of the game (2:50),the wind speed was 13 MPH and the 2nd base umpire was Scott Barry. Again try looking at facts before you post!

Watching that game last night, I couldn't help but think man, someone do something or else this could go for 20 innings with runners in scoring position each of those innings. The Sox are decent, the Giants stink and both teams played as if they were wondering why in the hell they were playing.

And listening to Hawk Harrelson say "In 2010, I'll have been in baseball for the better part of seven decades." Good, retire. Get a job as a GM or something. Oh, wait. You tried that and you Sukt.

They played Seattle which is the worst team in the majors right now, LAA without their best pitcher or leadoff man who ignites that offense and SF, What's there to be surprised at? If they don't come back with 7 wins on this trip, it's a failure.
You have to look at this in the historical context of how they have fared on west coast road trips no matter how good of a team they have fielded or how good or bad the teams they played were. They still have to play the games and history has shown that they do not do well out west even in the best of times which this certainly is not. So the fact that they will be heading back home with a winning record no matter what happens in the last two games makes this trip a success not a failure as you put it. I think you are being a tad harsh on this team considering their overall talent level.

Uhh then he would have to actually KNOW the facts instead of react to them!. Kinda a moot point with this guy.

Nice to see the Rameriez's and the Floyds and the Quentins's stepping up. Thanks to the Konero's and Buerle's and Uribe's for the past but they ain't going to lead us in the future. Keep the faith sox fans and be grateful if we can finish .500 in 2008. Maybe better days are ahead?

Hawk said it was the hottest day he had ever seen in SF. It was 91 yesterday afternoon.

Anytime this team goes on a 10 game trip to the west coast and comes back over .500 is a success. They have agood chance of sweeping the giants and coming back .700.
Oh, I just saw that Marmol blew the 9th inning against the Pirates. THE PIRATES. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

In regards to Claudio Vargas he's pitching for the New York Mets, and my post's are aimmed at the "Tools" who inhabit the Chicago Tribune Message Boards, what with their incessant ramblings about how the Sox can't win in temps over 50 or how their catching teams at the right moment or that their a .500 team at best!. All the while not being able to back up their post with any FACTS!, mostly just opinions and inuendo and blatant lies. and as far as am I sharing what I'm smoking?. All depends on the person, now if you'll excuse me I have a team to support and a blogger to discredit.

If you are tired of Thome, are you tired of Konerko and his stupid Velco, Velco, Spit in his hand, rub them together, Practice swing, Adjust the batting helmet, Dig in the batters box, Touch the plate with his bat, Strike 1 looking, Repeat the stupid process again, Strike 2, repeat the stupid process again, the pop up to the infield, thrown his bat down and "trot" to first base with his head down. Now he has a bone bruise..
I say BENCH HIM!
