Now with Heilman on the Cubs, this means 3 more wins for the Mets!

His first start against the Mets will be 7 innings, one run, 3 hits.

While understand that a lot of Heilman's tenure with the Mets (the 2006 NLDS final game comes to mind) was maddening, Heilman was a good soldier and really (I think) doesn't deserve the derision. He wasn't a big ticket free agent...never complained about a role that he didn't particularly like...didn't showboat around like many of the Mets.

He's a class act and I hope he does well as a Cub starter.

Is that with, or without Manny Ramirez?

He's going to be traded for a third time as part of a Jake Peavy trade...

I'd feel better if he were in the AL. Ex-Mets often haunt the Mets...I can still hear Looper singing "Jose Jose Jose..."

I'm not Met hater Jimbo. I'm a huge Mets fan and I know from watching this team the last 34 years, it will not be a shocker when the Mets sleepwalk thru a game Heilman pitches against them

Razor Shines clearly meant... Heilman's first relief against the Mets during the 7th inning, will be 3 runs on one hit!

We knew they'd get to the videotapes. It just goes to prove there's more than just air up in Seattle. They DO think! Imagine if Heilman starts a game at Shea? Don't hit the water cooler; it won't last long.

I'm pretty certain that Heilman will become a competent #2 or #3 starter for someone, winning between 12-16 games. I'm not happy to see him back in the NL, and yes, he will burn the Mets.

Some guys just aren't comfortable in the BP and some can't handle a role as a SP. This guy has a live arm and if he is given a chance to start he could come back to haunt the Mets. Wouldn't that be something if the SP they've looked for all winter could have been the guy they threw onto the trash pile?

I thought the biggest mistake last season was that during the period that Heilman was getting rocked, they brought in Nelson Figueroa to start. Figueroa actually performed well for what he is, but because Heilman was worthless in the bullpen at that point, I think the Mets shold have converted him to starter right then and there. They should either have sent him down for 4 or more starts, or told him they would stretch him by h aving him throw 50 pitches in a game, then 60, then 70, etc. They could also have told him, don't worry about the results, we are giving you 10 starts, or whatever. Big opportunity wasted, and now they sold low. Some other team will benefit from his live arm. He never wanted the bullpen over starting anyway.
