Cubs better hope the wind is blowing in when he pitches at Wrigley.

I agree. I do think however that he will win the 5th starter job and quickly rise thru the ranks. HUGE mistake the Mets made putting him in the bullpen, the Mets ruined this guy.

You know nothing about baseball pal, Heilman is a three pitch pitcher fastball, slider, changeup niether pitch is an out pitch or dominant, he needed to develop a fourth pitch either a 12-6 curve or a powercurve, spliter to be consistant as a starter until then he will be clobbered every fifth day, so put down the bong and go take baseball 101

The Cubs will be trading newly acquired Heilman and 2-3 other players to San Diego for Jake Peavy. Just wait and see!

Can't wait to see Sweet Lou unload on this meat when he hangs his pitches and aims it for the Cubs! Thankfully he'll choke for Chi-town and not NY!

I hope Aaron Heilman has a good chiropractor because his back is going to be killing him when he keeps turning around watching HR bombs land on Waveland Ave if the wind blows out. Major league subluxations.

The Mets put him in the bullpen because he couldn't make it through the opposing team's lineup more than once without hitters figuring him out.

He started 18 games in 2003-04. He was terrible. He wasn't exactly a kid at that point either (24 & 25). Given that the M's are desperate for starting pitching, it's interesting they've discarded him like this.

At the end of 05 Heilman was sent to winter ball. If effective he would begin 06 in the starting rotation. He came back with an era just over 2. Omar reneged and told him he would have to pitch in relief. This guy was losing millions year after year. Middle relievers don't get big money or long term deals. Aaron Heilman will be a winning pitcher with any other team. This is just another example of Omar Minaya's incompetence. The mets are a rudderless ship.

You're in better shape in New York than in Chicago. Here, the cub team is known as a sinking ship. Some of their fans are contemplating suicide.

Mandy- The mets have pulled defeat out of the jaws of victory since Omar Minaya took over. The ownership is just as unqualified. With Lou Piniella your chances for success are far greater than here. Just keep the fans away from tall buildings and bridges. Suicide is wasteful, unproductive and leaves no hope for the future.
