even a brand new bullpen won't let these guys hit in the clutch. they really need to make some moves to the lineup as well.

True about the line up. But with Tatis returning, it should provide some spark. A solid bullpen will provide confidence throughout.

Wake up Mets fans, no free agents will be signed unless there former club declines arbitration! First round picks are too valuable. When they lose Perez one will be signed either Lowe or Burnett

27 blown saves says it all.

Omar is only about a year or so too late in addressing the bullpen issue. Two blown division titles later he's looking into some changes.

. Better late than never, oh btw did you see the article a few days ago in the Post that Dereck Jeter was rated the WORST DEFENSIVE PLAYER IN ALL OF BASEBALL. |

What I don't understand about minor league systems is why does the parent club (no team in particular) so eager to trade their developing young talent for players they think they need? A lot of the players are over the hill by the time they get them and the minor league talent they gave up, go on to good careers with other teams. I just wish the Mets would hang onto their promising players and give them a shot-and then go into the trade market if it is not working for a particular player.

The post huh??? Now there's a great source of information! You could write for them and it would be an improvement! How's that Pedro situation??? Are you hoping they give him a long term deal??? Ah KAT, the baseball world awaits your great predictions for '09. You and that jerk from Peru must have some great conversations! BTW-say what you want, Jeter was the SS on not 1 but 4 WS winners, and has carried himself with class and dignity, unlike the little hot dog that plays SS for your Mess. He dances around like a little girl, annoys the other teams and has won nothing-not a thing!!! 1986 and counting!!! |

Also, better late then never but keep in mind, thus far it's all talk-he's done nothing! Granted he can't deal with free agents (discussing money that is) just yet, but don't say better late then never till he actuall pulls the trigger on a deal. If and when he does, I'll bet he gets a latino. Just a hunch! |

please omar go with the younger guys. im not talking about parnell or kunz yet. but at least 32 or younger. we cant keep on getting these old guys and have them be hurt all the time. also lose castillo hes awful he cant hit and was nothing special. and please dont make the corner outfields a platoon job the whose season that obviously hurt us. it also looks like we need a new catcher because i dont think schnieder is coming back
|

alright i liked the whole post until you brought up jose he dances around because hes having fun playing and not just in it for the money. i agree with you about what you said about jeter he is classy and he does him self with dignity unlike (you should of said) jimmy rollins hes a jerk. |

Amen to that. The line up was fine. They built up enough leads that were lost in the 7-9th innings. They were 2 less blown saves away from being in the playoffs. When they lost Billy they lost a guy who while can be a bit shaky at times would have gotten 2 of those saves the pen blew in the last month. Tell me if the Phillies would have lost Lidge for the rest of the year that they wouldn't have suffered just a lil. They may have been the team on the outside looking in. He made the rest of the pen look that much better. I think once they redo the pen this team will be fine. Have faith. 2000 and counting. Just figured I'd mention it. |

bullpen could make a big differenc. |

. Ah Jim it appears age is having its effect on your brain, although not much to start with in any case. Yes the Yankees have no Latinos, and about Jeter with his 4 rings, I think that has a lot to do more with the 24 other players around him. The guy is in big decline, 2 years in a row 'WORST DEFENSIVE PLAYER IN MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL" this is not my opinion but a well respected un-biased source. As far as Reyes is concerned what about your drunk indian Joba, who fist pumps everytime he gets a K, you haven't heard about Jose Reyes risking peoples lifes, just about some dancing IN THE DUGOUT. Understand you have to comment on that because as far as talent, production, and overall ability Reyes is head/shoulders over Capn Jeters. BTW the Yankees have a lot of age, Damon, Matsui, Jeter etc etc They will win again in 2011, Joba will be a starting pitcher and will be hurt by June. Lets hope the Yankees assign a bodyguard for him so he can keep him away from operating a vehicle. Those are some of my predictions, happy Arssssssssse-Wipe |

Inaccurate as always KAT-no one has a problem with dugout celebrations it's the on field stuff that little girlie Reyes does that annoys people! The body guard for Joba is fine-he screwed up and no one can excuse or defend that! Thank god he can use the body guard, unlike the Mess reliever who remains in jail for running down a pedrestrian and fleeing! Bet you're glad ya brought that stuff up huh??? You always lead with your chin!!! Here's a prediction for ya-Reyes will never achieve in his entire career what Jeter already has done! And who is this well respected unbiased source you refer to??? Don't tell me the post!!! "Worst defensive player in ML baseball" If you believe that, then I've got a bridge to sell you! What a ridiculous statement from any source, even you KAT! I've always suspected you were a bit light in the loafers but that statement is so ridiculous that it's funny! Better crawl back under your rock and shed some more tears over Choke II. Can they 3 peat??? Tough to do in these times but they are a special team as you've been telling us for some time. You're so obsessed with the Yankees and I suppose it's the jealousy in you that makes that happen. Matsui and Damon-huh??? Wanna talk age, how about Alou, Pedro, El finished, Delgado and who can forget that great signing in '07-Julio Franco? Although he's gone, he still holds the distinction of being the only guy on a MLB roster collecting a salary and social security at the same time. Go Omar!!! 1986 and counting!!!!!!!!!! |

why arent the mets pursuing ryan dempster from tthe cubs.

Why arent the mets tryin to sign Ryan dempster free agent from the cubs.Either for a starter or possibly revert him back into a closer.

Omar would prefer to explore all latino options first! |
|||
Since the Mets end p with players like Delgado, Beltran and Santana ; You are crying about that B.S Dempster H.O.M.O captain admired ; is one the Mets options for the closing role. Dempster, Wood, FRod, or Funtes .,; anyone ofthem will be the Mets closer in 2009 |
