ryan tucker 08'= dontrelle willis 03'
cameron maybin 08'= miguel cabrera 03'
why not
the defense still needs to improve thats the rreason why starters arent going deep even if the error doesnt show in the boxscore many miscues in each game extending innings and pitch counts for these pitchers go fishhhh!

Hanram's out of his mini-slump. Tucker and Nelson looked good. I'll be there tuesday vs Phillies.

Maybin = Maybe

Cantu has stats as good as Cabrera so far this year!

I don't think Maybin is MLB ready yet.
Plus, with the way Cody Ross is playing...
...can we please stop playing Jacque Jones?
Also...Joe Nelson is earning a spot for a critical spot out of the pen, with the way Kensing + Lindstrom are pitching, as well as Miller, who has struggled.

GO MARLINS!!!

The problem I see at the Hot Corner (third base) is that there hasn't been a player since Mike Lowell who gets set up on the infield grass. There are two big reasons for that.
1. It shortens the throw to first base and makes slow rollers easier.
2. It keeps the runner on second from getting in your sights on a routine double play.
The problem is... you gotta be good. Cantu will not last with the Marlins unless he gets better because when Maybin is ready he's in. Cantu might be best suited in the outfield or DH in the AL.
Good win today, nice to see Ryan Tucker. His fastball really moves. Could be special.

Leave Jacobs in the bench or better yet send him down to the minors, he does not have sufficient offense to justify his lack of everything else and the liability that he represents with his lack of defense, slow of feet and slow of mind when making baseball decisions. Play Helms or Cody or anyone else at first base.

If Jacobs keeps playing this bad, I wonder if it would be a good idea to move cantu over to first and call up mcphearson or play helms at 3rd.

Jacobs is not good enough to start in this team and that tells you that he is not good enough to start in any team. Sure, he gets hot and hits a couple of homers against Jamie Moyer but he does not merit a starting spot. And when he is hitting, he always manages to pull a muscle or get injured. He is a weightlifter body builder with a long looping swing that if a pitcher is pitching to him properly, makes him look bad 9 out of 10 times. Put anyone at first base, which is the only position he can play and play it badly.

I DO NOT DENY HE IS A NICE GUY, NICE KID... too bad! The Loria clan is hoping that someone sees him in one of those hot streaks and say hey, trade for him for another pitcher or anybody. But just think that they gave the Mets someone, whoever, for him, and they have all these prospects that when they get a little better then they get traded and that is the story. Where are all the players now that they traded for. They have Henley and no one else to show for. All the pitchers are injured and probably maimed for life.

The 2003 Championship is a total fluke where they put old man McKeown and some spiritual priest in Cuban town put a blessing on the old man and everything he did that year, including Cubs fan Bartman, came out the right way. Then they had chances to repeat and blew it twice while allowing Philly to walk all over them and slap them around in ridiculous ways.

Look at the manager they hire... Girardi, McKeown, Fredi ... and these are the guys that have stolen that money in Miami to build a stadium without taxpayers approval. SHAME ON EVERYONE.. We have a nation in crisis here, people losing jobs and these Loria clan is getting into the city coffers conduction an old fashion carpetbagging raid as if it was an all out assault on the ALAMO.

AND on top of that, they send out this little jack russel terrier by the name of Samson to bark and bark and bite at the ankles of the population of South Florida. You know, Samson the Jack Russell Terrier of the Lorias will be perfect if he was working for the Hillary Clinton campaign. Perfect. Fits all the psychological profiles of the people there. Totally nuts and hard to stand and they won't shut up. Pair up Samson with Clintologists, Macauliffe and Lanny Davis and you have a trifecta.

Did you notice Cantu at first with Helms at third? Better defense at third with Helms, better defense at first with Cantu (less throwing errors just by having fewer long throws), and gives us Jacobs as a pinch hitter with power. Could it be the move of the future for this team?

What you are proposing makes more sense, too much sense, and they would be better defensively and better offensively with your scenario. Wes Helms is a professional hitter who played a lot for a playoff team last year (Phillies) but the Loria stock brokerage house (buy low, sell high) is not going to allow your changes because they are working on featuring Jacobs and a couple of others so they can sell and sell them and get more prospects and operating with low costs and keep telling those who want to be lied to that, HEY LOOK, look at all the arms we got, look at the great prospect we got in that deal (their idea is just to win enough to keep the interest up a bit but everything is for sale, including the highly touted Henley contract which was like Hillary's gas tax gimmic because Henley's contract is a great contract to buy for anyone of the big boys who will buy it for a song and half a dance).

Henley is nearly the best offensive shortstop and what they are paying him is peanuts compared to what he will be worth if he stays just the way he is now. But they are selling the stadium on the basis of that contract.

BY THE WAY, someone said, hey did you not notice that Jacobs won the game last night with a homer. Precisely, I noticed and now it will be another 10 games that he gets to play based on that homer. I also noticed that Jacobs cost the Marlins pitchers 2 games last week with his defense.
