Great game by Paulie! Not to discount what he, or any of the other Sox hitters, did tonight but I think the Sox single-A Kannapolis team could get a few runs off of the Tribes' pathetic bullpen. Is that guy the Tribe picked up from St Louis in the DeRossa trade really a pitcher? I'm sure the Cards are laughing at how bad they took the Tribe.

If Carlos Quentin didn't get hurt, the Sox probably wouldn't have signed Scott Podsednik.
So, would the Sox have a better or worse record if Quentin never gets hurt ?

Who knows ? It was a wise decision by Ken Williams to get Scotty back home to Chicago. It payed off. The sweet problem that Ozzie will have is what to do when Carlos gets healthy.

"hey Paulie, Paulie, Paul, let's have a ball"

-Gigantic, by the Pixies...my favorite Paul Konerko song.

Paulie, unreal!! I never even considered the idea of hitting for the home run cycle...although thank god we didn't need a 3 run dinger in the 9th :-)

Paulie, Scottie and JD (AJ too) rest assured you are all all-stars and if you want to come over to have a few drinks during the wonk game, let me know what you're drinking.

assuming you have better things to do, rest up for the home stretch and rest assured there's a lot of space on the wall past the walgreen's sign and besides HoF consideration I'll personally hound Jerry until you all (+Mark) have your images out there after you retire!!

You 5 are amazing!

I think tonight moved up to #3 on my "I can't believe I saw it and I was there" after WS game #1; Mark's no hitter and now Paul's 3 dinger shy of the HR cycle!!

Paulie you are the best...way to go!!!

Unreal, Scottie was sitting around with nothing to do in April and now's he's batting .311 and terroeizing pitchers like a lead off hitter should. If he's not in contention for AL player of the year, then the fix is on.

I'm still a bit ticked Quentin can't control himself and smashes his hand on a bat last year...very selfish and this year has been a bust. so I'd keep him on a short leash until he has a groove, but whatever you do, let's keep the Scottie love rolling along Ozzie.

Paul, my hat's off to you. You are one of the class acts of baseball.

From the slam in the WS to being the leader on this team and sticking around after 2005... you are one of the diamonds in the rough that make us proud to be sox fans in this age of chasing the money and get ahead at any cost! It's great to see the seemingly reserved and humble guy that works hard have a nice payoff.

Nice job tonight and very nice way to remind your peers that you are the king of first baseman in the AL.

They'd have signed Pods anyway and put him in CF.

I know Ozzie was half kidding but I wish team management in general would just let Buehrle be and forget about this conditioning nonsense. Doing it his way he has almost a decade in the majors under his belt to go along with a World Series ring, 4 All Star games, 131 wins and is 42 games over .500. To top that off he has spent his entire career in the A.L. with the DH and has an ERA of 3.76. He never gets hurt always takes the mound, never gets in trouble and is about to finish off his 9th straight season with at least 30 starts, 200 innings and at least 10 wins. Talk about trying to fix what is not broken.

"He's not a good example for the kids because Mark Buehrle doesn't do anything in the off-season expect sit there and watch the kids, and he's an All-Star," Guillen said, only half in jest. "Sometimes I ask him,'How do you do this?' He's not a guy that's going to impress you, but all of a sudden he's in the top three in the game for the last 10 years."

I believe Ozzie said "except" and not "expect."

Brandon Allen we hardly knew ye. I don't like this trade. Allen would have been the natural in house option to replace Konerko in a couple years and to trade him for a veteran middle reliever when your bullpen is already strong makes no sense to me. Unless of course Pena is going to be packaged in another deal. Whats next Arron Poreda and Jordan Danks for Kyle Farnswroth?

Impressive win over the dangerous Indians. Amazing that they held that powerful lineup to only 6 runs to slip by with a win. Thank goodness that they only play the Indians every other series.....they are tough.

Schedule the rally downtown goirls.....IT'S GONNA HAPPEN!

There are traditions.....and there are White Sox traditions.....1919

Daily Horoscope for December 23

Sagittarius

Slow down! You're trying to do too much and it's driving you - and everyone else - up the wall. What's more, if you're in too much of a hurry you'll start to become accident-prone and that will make you even more het up. Try to take any setbacks or domestic mishaps in your stride, otherwise you'll end the day feeling like a nervous wreck.
