I think and hope that every fighter goes into a fight believing he is going to win so the "over-confident" comment is odd, but I think that the image problem Mr. White may have referred to is that the fans had been treated to two (2) five round bore fest title defenses (Andre Arlovsky, Jeff Monson) in a row from Tim Sylvia and we all know from his first 20 or so fights that he is capable of MUCH better performances. No one wants to pay money to watch those kinds of fights, period. Besides the points that Tim made about the fans being behind Randy, the most important one is that they all felt like they could expect good heavyweight title fights again since Tim was no longer delivering. It is our money and that is all we NEED to understand about what is going on with a fight.

Tim, I was at UFC 68 and I have to say, the way most of the crowd reacted to you was ridiculous. I too was rooting for Randy, nothing personal, still have alot of respect for you, but I hope someday the UFC fans can get to the point where they respect all the fighters, not just the ones they are cheering for. This isn't pro wrestling, there are no good guys and bad guys here. Good luck with your recovery. uwilltap.com

Well, too bad Timmade the unfortunate injury comment after losing to a better prepared, more motivated fighter. However, his comment about many fans still not understanding much of MMA strategy and tactics is absolutely true. Whether they are paying money or not, any fan who boos the fighters during a tough bout should have to go a round with one of them.

Im glad Tim lost. He was the worst heavyweight ever! All he ever does is use his height advantage. I'll say this, if he was the size of Couture or Cro Cop, he wouldnt amount to squat! Oh and by the way, his image problem is nobody likes him. e isnt enjoyable to watch and he has the personality of a branch.

This will be good for him! He can sit out and watch how Crocop and Arlovski make fights exciting.

I was at ufc 68, I didnt boo Tim, and I would have to say that all the alcohol being consumed there that night contributed to the crowd's behavior. But, like someone already said Tim's last two fights were boring, it looked as though he wasnt there to actually win the fight but just to not lose. I think maybe he got too caught up in the belt and stopped fighting to win.

I still think Tim is a good fighter and I think he will eventually make a comeback I just hope that when he does he doesnt go back into the defense mode.

Tim,
I don't know if you have a chiropractor or have ever been adjusted before, but you will see measurable results (not just with the herniated disc but with staying healthier and stronger before and after fights) with chiropractic care. Also if chiropractic doesn't help with the herniated disc you should look into intervertebral disc decompression (VAX - D) which is a non-surgical, non- medication based procedure with 90% success rate. Good luck with the ehaling process.

I think UFC President Dana White is a turd burgler. His personal comments about fighters have no place in the UFC. Whenever I hear White begin to speak I change the channel. He may be the reason the UFC doesn't get any bigger and/or regress into nothingness. I hope new fight leagues spring up and give competition to the UFC because White's ego is out of control. Remember where you were a short time ago Dana......

I think everyone is being a little tough on the ex-champ. He is still a champion.

Tim did set himself up when he brought up the injury issue during the post fight interview. Putting that aside overall Timmy is a great champion, and rest assure by the end of 07, there will be three belts back on the real champions waists.

I love the UFC. But lets be for real its basically a click, if you pay any attention to other MMA events you know there are alot of guys that could easily come into the UFC and win belts easily.Thats the truth.

Tim saying he was the best in the world only fuels the fire of why fans do not like him. I am a HUGE UFC fan but it's a fact that Pride has had the best fighters in the HW division and still does. Why not see where he stacks up against the likes of Cro Cop? Frank Mir has looked terrible since his return...you want to prove to the fans you are at least one of the best in the world then ask, no beg to fight Cro Cop and let the fans see how bad you want to be champ again.
