Well, I really like her and think she will do just fine!!! I am a very smart conservative woman and have for a very long time wanted a like minded voice on the national front!

I am so tired of all the left wing wemon out there bashing those who don't take their marching orders from Gloria Steinman. Those ladies, like me, who view life as sacred and not to be ripped to shreds via this "choice... of death and dismemberment for our very own children... for God's sakes!" We are very smart and talented and a very large voter group!!! We have been disenfranchised and unrepresented by the left leaning wemon in the media and politics who "claim" to have our best interest at heart. I am sick of them... really!

And I am estatic that someone like me, who can handle two or three blackberrys at once and have the audacity to take on anyone who think that beauty can not coexist with brains, will be in a position of such power.

My daughters favorite movie IS legally blonde! Because beautiful wemon are very marginalized by males AND females whenever it suites them. My daughter has beauty, smarts, skill and drive to go wherever she wants in life in part because she saw 'Elle Wodds' not let a pric of a guy, or sold out woman politician, keep "Elle" from following her dreams. I did hate the little goofy airheaded things but really liked the overall theme. Study and hard work can pay off in bigger and better ways than a lap dance to some smuck!

To see a tough macho man taking on more of the childcare roles as Todd Palin has done all through his wife's career be elevated to the national stage sets an example for all guys out there afraid of a diaper. Not to mention.. let those fortune 500 top brass just TRY to say that wemon can't do a top job because we get pregnant or have small children!

Susan, you are RIGHT ON, as usual. You may not be smart enough to be VP, but the ditzy Palin could do a lot worse using you as a mentor (really "big sister").

"Smart conservative woman"--isn't that an oxymoron?

Susan,Susan, Susan! I realize that this column is an attempt to generate more buzz for the Sun, but you really need to think for yourself. The only reason you reject Sarah is that she isn't a liberal democrat. When I read a political column I like to think that the author has political experience or a law degree or an MBA or a divinity degree. What's in your resume? Ms. Palin's former brother in law tasered his 10 year old stepson. Would you want him on your local police force?

Susan:
The conservative elite you mentioned are appalled at the lack of intellectual curiosity Palin has. I am sure John McCain, who is well read, smart and had some critical thinking skills before he lost his way, is embarrassed by her. Conservative columnist David Brooks called her a "cancer for the Republican party" because of her anti-intellectuallism; a la Bush Jr.(So unlike his dad). She doesn't have the instincts to cover her lack of knowledge. She may be a good campaigner but there is no substance. She appeals to the base and the low information voter. Peggy Noonan wrote a column for National Review praising her debate performance and was blasted in the comments for just wanting a republican (small R) elected and not caring about the country. Thankfully, most of us see through her. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/10/08/davi...

Unfortunately, I don't think this columnist gets it. For the first time in history, a person is running who actually can relate to the populace, understand the issues of raising kids on a limited budget and has been where I and my wife have been. And just as importantly, is not part of the group that has put us in the hole we are in today. Was McCain part of this? Yes, but he recognizes it and is willing to change. The other side? "Not Me" all over again. Sounds like we are in for 4 years of social reform to make us all "feel" better vs. fix what is wrong. Well, hopefully this Dem will keep his zipper up.

Sarah Palin is clearly NOT qualified to be vice president and voters, both men and women, will say so on November 4. Susan, your ability to see the world through honest eyes apparently scares many. Keep up the good work!

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz... Oh you said something? I really get tired of the liberal/socialists and their constant whining. Have you listened to Biden? Not only is he out of touch (hey Joe the diner closed 18 years ago), and makes dozens of errors (lies?) but he used this exact statement to discribe Obama less than a year ago (no experience, no voting record, lots of 'strange' friends). Susan, I'm sure you could have paraleled the two, except Palin has run a government and Obama has run acorn. That's close enough. PS to questionauthority, your trite socialist insults add much to this discussion. Kindly keep it up to confirm your ideas of the intelligent comments and social discord.

Too bad Palin isn't a first term US Senator, only a few years out of local ward politics in Chicago, with no administrative experience. Too bad she doesn't have associations to domestic terrorist bombers and radical ministers and priests shouting God Dam America. Too bad she isn't a admitted former drug user. Too bad her own running mate didn't say she wasn't ready to be President. Your column is right on target--as it applies to Barrack Obama.

Ms. Reimer-Please just give me three good reasons how Obama is qualified to be President of the United States. Also, without a teleprompter, why can't he complete a whole sentence without stuttering. This guy is just an empty suit and you and others just can't admit it!

your concerns for the vp spot are my concerns for the top spot. Obama is not ready & a good campaign does not translate to a good presidency. ex, George Bush. feminists are exposing themselves as hypocrites when they attack Sarah Palin. Gevernment works best with a hard nosed republican in the white house & liberal 'Jesus will lead us, but welfare will feed us' at local levels. The presidency is above Obama's pay grade. Go Sarah, Go Sarah!

Your jealous, envy deep hatred toward Governor Palen has now become pathological. You need help and the bosses at the "paper" need to give you some time off BEFORE you hurt some one or something seriosly. How low will a declining so called newspaper go before it realizes it is moribund and try to meet the needs of the community it "serves.'
Sorry, but you sir, are too blind to see the truth. Good column, Ms. Reimer.

If you can't think of three reasons why Obama is qualified to be president, then you must have been living in a bubble for the last 18 months. Do some research on your own. Did you watch the debates? I didn't hear any stuttering on his part. The guy can move a nation, so get used to it because more than likely, he will be the next president of the United States.

Palin is fine. She has all the fundamentals.
Plus she can still grow intellectually and emotionally.

so you want someone who graduated in the bottom half of his second-tier school (U of DE) who thinks a "double major" is the same as 3 degrees; someone who graduated in the bottom quarter of his third-tier law school and someone who does not know that FDR was not president during the market crash of 1929 and does not know that TV was not around before 1930? someone who believes all climate change is man made (gosh, the earth is 4.5 billion years old and humans have been around for about 40,000 years -- who cause all the changes during the first 4.49996 billion years). Biden is educated beyond his intelligence but capable of fooling nuts like Susan.... she and her ilk are so clueless (and closed minded)....

Let's see how much closer we are to socialism if your buddy Obama is elected. Who, by the way, does not have a solid gold resume.

Moving speeches and choppy three word phrases do not qualify you to be president, Mr.zzz.

Oh Please! The "Young Governor from Arkansas" had a law degree from Yale. Went to Oxford. Was a Rhodes Scholar.(All before he ran for President.)

Sarah Palin cannot even name a newspaper she reads.

Good article. Spot on.
