i was in montrose school for girls in the early 60 to 70

i hope this is going through. i have very fond memories of montrose. mrs wright was the kitchen lady she was nice but stern she lived the wilson cottage where i was housed. i now live on the montrose property. it is a housing community i tell my grandchildern about it ever so often iam glad to find this page so they will not think iam crazy.good luck to all i consider anyone that was my sister.we went through alot. and could not tell anyone. please respond. firstname.lastname@example.org
montrose was good to me as well as for me it saved my life. i do remember a few girls who ran away. after comming out of the hole. they said when they were in the woods. the staff men raped them before they were returned. thanks to whoever remembered who lived in the manison i often wondered. good luck to all my sisters. florence.hyatt@yahoo,com
I don't remember more than a handful of men, all in academic positions. Never heard of rape or mishandling of ANY of the girls. My name was Norma Edwards at the time. The girl I remember the most (can put a name to, because I remember a number) was Ira Glover. Ended up in a club where she was singing with a band. Her voice and her smile will stay with me. Although I resented being there, I learned skills that helped me find work through the years.
I was at Montrose from January to August 1961.
