US military has covered up its abuses in Jolo island and the US Embassy in Manila plays deaf and blind to all those abuses. The forcible closing down of a state-run hospital in Jolo island in December is one good example of how the US covered up for its own human rights violations in the southern Philippines. US Congress should send a team in Jolo and investigate all these abuses.

There are a lot of good things that USA is doing for the Philippines. When that submerged vessel where hundreds died and there were toxic chemical inside the vessel - yes the US came to its rescue. I heard one American was contaminated with that toxic chemical. Did you people show any compassion to that US citizen? When there was a flood flash where a school building was carried and buried by the flood - you can see US soldiers helping the people. They're doing a lot of humanitarian help to the Filipinos like Doctors who spend their time treating the poor in the Rural Areas; soldiers who help put up schools and roads in the rural areas... They're reaching areas that the government, especially the local government of PI could not do nothing but just watch and care less. US soldiers are number one when it comes to emergency rescue and humanitarian help. Same with US doctors and nurses who are always going to PI to give free medical services and medicines to the poor.

Im from South part of the Philippines and I give credit to US soldiers! Geez, we should thank for the US soldiers who helped us in Mindanao. Let's admit, our Philippine troops doesn;t have enough training compare to US soldiers, instead of questioning about it, keep whining since they are there to help Filipino soldiers! These are soldiers who are 1000miles away from their family, and here they are helping strangers!!! Philippines will never be like what we are now without USA, and thats the truth!

In the very least Obama needs to cut ties with the Philippines, and in a worst case scenario invade the Island again or nuke it. I'm sick of my tax dollars going to that pigsty.

I was born and raised in the Philippines (and of Filipino descent). Like Benoit, I also HATE IT that my US tax dollars go to the Philippines or any other countries that DO NOT appreciate the US.

Why would any country waste a perfectly good nuke on the PI. The PI is no treat to anyone in anyway. Their only enemies and obstacles are within themselves. It will continue until the people get a little self confidence and realize that regardless how much help is given that they are the only ones who can build a better future for the country.

Why would Russia or China risk a nuclear retaliation defending the complete impossibility of a nuclear strike by the US on the Philippines? You should keep your logic in your pants. I think that's about all you're truly capable. Are you related to Maniac Jr the Follower? The stupidity resemblance is frightening!

China's economy depends heavily on the US market no the Philipinnes. If China was to attack the US that would be like crapping in their own bed. The economic ramifications of such an attack would cause major economic problems in China that would result in social unrest like you have never seen. Russia doesn't care about the Philipinnes ONE IOTA. The Pinoys like to talk bad about the US, but never turn down our money or other aide. They are hypocrites, I want all ties with them CUT off. They are not an allie but a liability.
