Grampy wrote: <quoted text> To bad you can't present your opinion without grouping everybody that does not agree with you with Beck or Hannity. Then your economic fairy tale would have a better chance of being believable. Your economy still is weak and manufacturing jobs will not return here because China's growth will suck up any demand growth. Add in cap and trade legislation and our mfg will be even less competitive on a world basis. Could fall deeper into recession. How do you figure GDP is up two qtrs in a row when your earlier article said 3rd qtr growth was up 3.5% after 2nd qtr was minus .7%? Is their another qtr between the 2nd and 3rd qtrs? Goes back to guns or butter. Obama wants us to stop making guns and only make butter. But the costs for us to make butter are too high making it too expensive to sell. Butter turns rancid and we all starve. No, 2Q09 was 0.07, you even posted that ya retard. Again, tired of the same ole moronic BS. Did you even finish high school? Did they HAVE high school when you were eligible???

Sorry.
0.7% which translates to 2.8% annualized. Not bad for the current climate.

Demos wrote: <quoted text> What happened to "vote 'em all out"? Natural remedies can also include laxatives...politically speaking, that is. Political constipation might be exactly what ails us. Perhaps we should get rid of that problem first and voting 'em all out would surely "cleanse" the system. I don't think I said anything contradictory to this before.

Demos wrote: <quoted text> Yeah, buy gold. A 10% return (provided you actually sell it and don't just store it with your .22 shells) over the last year beats the hell out of a 35% return over the last six months. Careful with the numbers. Gold was $740 one year ago. It's over $1110 today. That's not 10%, it's well over 45%. It's up 10% in the last month and a half. More numbers. It was $300 10 years ago, it's over $1110 today. That's closing on a 400% gain. I haven't discussed gold mining stocks, which have outperformed the broader markets for years, benefitting from the bull market in gold. China and India are large net buyers of gold. As the dollar tanks, gold is seen as an asset with real value. Just as it has for many centuries. At one time, our dollar was backed by gold. But that's another day. More numbers. The DOW is right where it was 10 years ago, at 10,000. The NASDAQ is less than half it's y2k high. Unless you're prescient enough to have bought at the lows and sold at the highs, you've just tred water for 10 years. If you were lucky. Most people are steady, conservative, buy and hold type investors. As are most financial advisors and brokers. So most people have lost money in the stock markets in the past 10 years. Dividend paying stocks have fared somewhat better. If you tell me you've captured the swings, I'll smile and move on.:) If you believe either deflation or inflation will occur, Gold is the safer investment going forward. You could say that both gold and oil are inversely tracking the dollar. As it sinks, they appreciate.

It was the grain to molehole ratio. Couldn't figure out how to integrate the mountain into that analagy. But, just curious, do you not think fabrications are coming out of this administration?

Here's your treatment of another woman, on another thread: Just another poster wrote: <quoted text> I'm quite familiar with Joe from Middletown - he's been trolling on Topix for a long time. Always nasty, ugly and insulting, and never with anything constructive to add to the conversation. I'm not sure why he's taken to stalking you, but it's evident that he is. He hasn't been on this thread at all, and suddenly he pops up and starts going after you. Sure smells like a troll to me! ---------- Middletown Joe Joined: Apr 2, 2007 Comments: 6803 Nope, the smell is your poor hygiene. Did you think people avoid you because you look imposing????? I never bothered you before have I? So why chime in now? ---------- I especially enjoyed the whining "I never bothered you before"!!! LOL Your homophobia, racism, and misogyny are well documented here. That's why you react so angrily, actually insanely, when called on it. To the point of accusing me of being the feared Zonker, as well as a reincarnation of your mother, Nancy!! She must have really scarred you, eh?? So which one emasculated you more, Mommy or Wifey? Between the two, they've created an angry eunuch in you. You can't direct you anger at them, so you direct it towards women on Topix, with crude remarks about 'pool boys', racial attacks on women's husbands, etc. LOL, so Z just because you have your wife's nightie on it doesn't make you a woman, Nancy. I am honored you cut and pasted me though. My posts are worth saving aren't they?

Realtime wrote: <quoted text>Carol, the Kurd gassing has been explained to you dozens of times and links to sources have been provided by myself and others on this thread and the tea party thread. The goings on in Iraq-Iran begin in 1952, begin there and you'll understand how and why the subsequent events unfolded. Was Saddam hosting terrorists prior to the invasion? Yes, Nidal was in Iraq, that's where he was murdered, most think on orders from Saddam. Going back and reading history does not necessarily affect the present. I learned a lot about Iran and our involvement in their history thanks to your website months ago. Abandoning the Kurds after the first Gulf War in the face of their disloyalty to Saddam on our behalf sealed their fate. I know that too. But going back and reading history does not change the reality of the present and how to deal with it. Even if mistakes were made on our part - terrible mistakes - do we simply ignore or excuse the atrocities that ensued because of them on the part of Saddam? He has always been the bad guy even if he did manage to fool much of the world for a very long time, including us.
