Argument over girl may have led to killing

Before anyone starts the OMG! HAMPTON IS SO CRIME RIDDEN! entries, I want to say this: There are far too many jurisdictions in the U.S. with the same population or less than Hampton who wish there were only seven homicides in nearly nine months. This is a tragedy but seven homicides in a city of about to 130,000 wouldn't cause me to freak out/move/bait other posters into pointless arguments.

But I'm sure this will fall on deaf ears.

Over some chick????? Was she playing both of them? these young kids of today want everything... POSSESSION of a person seems like the latest fad.... MINE..... Guess what? You have to earn that respect, money or anything else you want in life.... Put this killer on life support....... only hanging from a noose......

Of course, this is the third incident to occur in this part of the neighborhood in the last 72 hours.

before everyone jumps the band wagon with finger pointing just let me say thank you to the gentleman for trying to save the young mans life sometimes you can only do as much as gods will will let you and again thank you and god bless not only to you but to the young kids family as well...

Very true, this man deserves our respect.
To the contrary, though, it comes as no surprise the kids on the scene were helpless to do anything. They don't know the first thing to do when somebody gets shot, yet I'd be willing to bet they can put a condom on a cucumber. Gotta love the government skewl sisdem.

Irregardless of the crime, who did it, or what color they are, a family has lost a child; my sympathies go out to them. Much respect to the kind gentleman who did his best to save the young man’s life.

That is seven to many and it is only August, this could be a record setting year. I would like to see the murder rate at zero.

I live right down the street from where the killin occured, in fact I heard the gunshots, I said to myself that it sounded like gunshots, but ignored it, cause it is pretty quiet on my street. I ask, what are the other incidents that have occured in the last 72 hours? Some of us just work, come home and mind our business, i would just like to know.

Rest in Peace Riley. You were so kind to everyone you came in contact with. You didnt deserve what happened to you. My condolences to the the family, espcially his mother.

It wasn't over a who's girl it was or possesion of her. It was his girlfriend's brother. They had a disagreement over her.

That the witnesses are talking to the police is also commendable.

this young man's life was taken too soon, and what about the shooter!,very
one in the crowd probably knew who it is, but to the man who tried to save
this young man i hope you are around ( it will happen )the next this happens may-be the outcome will be different THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!

yeah me too. Our area is strange. Pockets of rich, poor and middle class all within blocks of each other...

Sorry didn't mean any harm. It is petty.. I just noticed it because I use to use that word all the time and I kept being corrected.
