This doesn't come as any surprise. You can see this kind of police activity, anytime you want, just look out your front door, if you live in the inner city. If not, just come on down, and drive thru a few neighborhoods. You will see what we see here everyday.

This is a perfect example of how the Sun is behind the times. WHERE'S THE LINK!?! Yes, I can find it myself in a second, but half your readers can't.

I can hardly wait until the next video which shows the fat policeman trying out his new skateboard.

I didn't realize the police could just help themselves to interesting objects they find in the possession of punky teenagers.

Baltimore Cops are the worst, totally arrogant to boot. I once witnessed one of them draw down on a limo driver at Camden Yards for disobeying a hand signal. Plus the standard handbook line, 'you might drive like that in DC but you can't do that in Balmer,' that I have heard a few times..

I'm a Baltimore native with a couple relatives who have served honorably and proudly on the PD. This guy is a disgrace. He's a fat, foul-mouthed, hot-head and bully. He's an embarrassment to his badge, his city, and his profession. Jerks like this used to give the LA police dept. the reputation as the country's worst--until leadership set standards and cleaned house. By the way, Officer Happy, you got your definition of "dude" wrong. A dude is a city slicker who takes a vacation on a ranch. You should be ordered to an anger management seminar or a fat farm.

finally some accoutability, that kid has no guidance or direction at home or respect for authority and it is great to see an adult holding him accountible to his disprectful actions, there should be more of this

unfortunatley a lot of people think this is rare behavior for the police, however it s quite common. the police continually step on the constitutional roghts of the public on a rampant and daily basis and noone does anything about it, and people like Sheila Dixon don't give damn about it either unless it hits close to home. it is a shame that the police in balto. in particular routinly break the law every day and rarely get their feet held to the fire for their illegal and lying ways. and by the way, this is not just the patrol officers it is their supervisors who condone their behavior and on many occassions promote it.

MTA police are the same way. I got a hard time from an MTA cop last summer while I was watching trains; the patrol car video captured the whole thing and the guy's superiors - to whom I spoke on the phone several times on their dime - said that the officer was wrong and that they would take care of it. Cut to the end: I got a letter from the MTAPD sometime in the fall saying the case had been reviewed and they found that the officer did nothing wrong.

So much for internal affairs.

I agree 100%. You abused your power, dude. You're only a fat bully cop until the Baltimore PD fires your fat a.s.s. Then you're merely a fat unemployed bully. You can protect the city yet show respect to those you protect. Please consider it.

first of all - like it or not - skateboarding is illegal around the inner harbor. Secondly the kid should got the dressing down he deserved for being disrespectful to the officer (that's right - respect...no one appears to know what that is anymore since kids are taught none anymore - especially entitled suburban kids). Third - if the officer was out of line as far as police policy , he should get disciplined accordingly. Personally I'd rather see this kids parents give him this kind of talk.
I don't go to the inner harbor much, but last time I was there I saw signs all over about not skateboarding. It is a public walk area with lots of families and kids and skateboarding there can endanger lives as it is right next to the water. I'm all FOR skateboarding where there is ample room, but I also recognize that the law is the law and when you don't follow it, there are consequences.

Wow that policeman was harsh. I am not a fan of skateboarders damaging public and private property but the policeman was way out of line. He kept ratcheting up the anger and then he got physical with the boy. He was just a boy. Boys do stupid things all the time. Maybe the boy was ill-mannered but it wasn't for the policeman to decide that.

He will be lucky to keep his job and the department will be lucky not to face a lawsuit.

What's the problem? Officer Revieri didn't use any foul language, has to deal with snot-nosed kids who've never had anyone say "No" to them so don't think the rules apply.

I can tell by 99% the race of the writer. If you don't like the Police than take care of the filth and crime in Baltimore City by yourself. You created it. I just resent my tax dollars going into a toilet like Baltimore City where Police Officers have to deal with scum like the skateboarder every day. Why a man or woman would want to be a Balto. City Police Officer amazes me. I am sure Mayor Dixon will take the appropriate steps to discipline the Officer. Of course, Dixon should look in the mirror first, her reputation and background certainly is questionable when it comes to honesty.

I wasn't going to respond until I saw Joe's post. YES, BALTIMORE CITY POLICE are ARROGANT! Case in point, my first serious auto accident at age 24. I was alone, scared and it was late at night in a bad area. But I remembered my drivers ed training, and I asked them to please call an ambulance. I was put in the squad car, and when the EMTs arrived and walked towards me, officer friendly whipped around and SCREAMED INTO MY FACE; I called the amulance, now are you going? In this case, after seeing the video, I see nothing wrong with the kids, only the officer. he shouldn't be suspended, but FIRED! And you wonder why cops get shot!
