I think the news media give much more attention to Obama than they do Clinton. It looks like the media is pushing for Obama as the candiate. I thought we were a democracy but this has been the most unfair and biased campaign I have ever seen. Open your eyes people!

I am very insulted by his comments... I am also insulted by the way that people defend the insults that he hurls at the middle class white Americans. If a white candidate had said "Typical Black people" he would be considered a racist and a bigot, would he not? Why is it OK for a "black man" to say things that it is not OK for white people to say? I am sick of this double standard and being held accountable for slavery when I wasn't even born of that time and had nothing to do with it. Good job separating the American voters Obama!!! I wish that Ron Paul were still running now I am stuck with Clinton or McCain or the possibility of not voting at all. Are these really the best choices for all of us Americans??? Say hello to GD2 "Great Depression #2" We are all in a lot of trouble and those "Typical Americans" that Obama so eloquently talks about negatively in front of private donors in a different state, are in for more hardship than they ever imagined along with the everyone else. I just cannot vote for anyone willing to throw their own grand mother under the proverbial bus. These are sad days for us Americans. Thanks for your time in reading my post.

It's been fun watching Obama and Clinton hang themselves all weekend. Everytime one of them opens their mouths, they make themselves look more ridiculous. Both of them are phony, hypocritical, and liars. And of course, it's all the fault of Fox News. It is beyond me how anyone could vote for either one of them. I'm certainly not a big McCain fan, but at least he's staying above the fray. The general election is going to be something.

Mary, they (politicians)are all like that. I wonder how many remarks like that were made in private by Hillary and McCain with their people. Are any of them really in touch with or care about the middle class working stiff? Doubt it. mary p- wrote: It's been fun watching Obama and Clinton hang themselves all weekend. I moved from Baltimore up to a small town in rural northwestern PA back in 1998. Lived there for just over nine years, and you know what? Obama's comments are dead on - the major concerns of the voters up there are guns and which candidate they think shares their particular religious view the most. Even though the economies and demographics of that area have gone to hell over the last 35 years, they don't care enough about it to ever vote differently. God and guns and Jesus hates people that aren't just like me - that's the platform that works there, like it or not.

I think all three of these candidates are a disgrace. They fight and bicker like cats and dogs, while the real issues affecting Americans get mocked. Obama's comments sometimes come off as divisive and alienating to the very people who he needs to represent. I don't undertand that. Clinton has no substance except when it comes to attacking Obama. If she attacked the terriorists with such furor, we might have a safe country. I don't get this attacking people on the same team. Then McCain double speaks, one week he says one thing, next time he steps back. No wonder some of us are scratching our heads and not sure who to vote for. Obuma is definitely out of touch with white, middle America. Hilary is a joke, and a bad one at that!

I have OFTEN wondered in particular what the Clinton's have called Obama in the privacy of their own bedroom. Would love to be a fly on the wall.

Jenny623 - excuse me but I believe Obama and Clinton have been slinging mud at each other ..... Not Senator McCain. The Senator has shown the intelligence and decency to stay away from the rediculous and childish remarks made by Obama and Clinton. I will tell you what Obama and Clinton do very well ..... they lie and twist things around to suit their political careers. Obama associates with black racist and is trying to tell people he is their friend, but doesn't support their beliefs. Give me a break, he agrees with them about white people being bad. As for Clinton, she couldn't recognize the truth if it walked up and kicked her.

As an "average" American, I understand what Barack Obama was saying and so do many others like me. There are people who are bitter and understandably so. The average U.S. citizen does not get the representation deserved from our elected officials. This average citizen believes that too many elected officials are not running for office becuse they want to help the average citizen. They are trying to set themselves up for connections that will line their pockets with cash. I am sick and tired of reading and hearing about non-issues like this comment made by Obma. Let's stay on point!

I just saw a piece of Obama's speech from Pittsburgh--he was making fun of candidates who try to fit in on their bus tours with the local constituency. He made a crack referring to Hillary, about having a shot and beer. Didn't I just see where he went BOWLING??? I don't think that bowling is an elitist sport--perhaps that's why he did so poorly. Pardon the pun, but look who's calling the kettle black.

Jenny623 - Exactly what "bickering" has McCain engaged in recently? Seems to me that it's always HRC and Obama. Just curious....

What voters in Pennsylvania, and Indiana, and down the road, need to ask themselves is this: Are you better off economically, than you were eight years ago? If you are not, and you want change, you vote for change. If you like the status quo, vote the status quo. Hillary has once again morphed herself into whatever she thinks she needs to be to get votes. She has no shame.

If Barack Obama, who pulled himself up by his own bootstraps, may be labeled an "elitist", then the Clintons, who in January 2007 liquidated their blind trust of the nearly $50 million amassed during their years in public office, may equally be labeled "crooks"? Hillary Clinton says she once shot a duck in Arkansas. As the Clintons have repeatedly taken certain liberties with the facts, not to mention with abiding by the law, I wonder if Arkansas state records show that Hillary had a hunting license and duck stamp?

Hillary Clinton says her economic policies will restore the economic policies of her husband's administration. However both Hillary and her husband failed to demonstrate any economic wisdom or foresight as Alan Greenspan warned of irrational exuberance while the sub prime housing loans and dot com investment bubbles were created and pandered during her husband's administration and both supported China's entry into the World Trade Organization without any conditions such as protecting the environment or labor and property rights to levels that are comparable to western standards. The U.S. government surplus (generated by taxes raised from the housing and investment bubbles) evaporated once the housing and investment bubbles burst. Furthermore, China today is not only a leading contributor to environmental pollution and global warming (thank you very much Mr. Nobel Laureate, Al Gore), it's also pushing up oil and other commodity prices, taking our jobs and stealing our intellectual property. Like the Roaring Twenties decade that preceded the Great Depression, the Irrational Nineties that preceded our current decade were both golden ages for technology, scandal-plagued politicians, corporate greed, and unrestrained personal debt and speculation. As the global economy teeters on the brink of economic meltdown not unlike the Great Depression, America doesn't need finger pointing and fear mongering, America needs a president whose economic policies are based on confidence, unity and reason. America needs Barack Obama.

When political and military judgment mattered most to U.S. military personnel and the American people, John McCain and Hillary Clinton failed as U.S. Senators to demonstrate any commander-in-chief qualities when without competent questioning, they both accepted the faulty intelligence used to justify the Iraq war and misjudged the Bush administration's competencies to lead the war. Barack Obama on the other hand demonstrated his superior judgment and commander-in-chief qualities when he took an unpopular position and cautioned that without clear rationale an invasion of Iraq would encourage the worst impulses of the Arab world and strengthen Al Qaeda's recruitment. Now, John McCain advocates maintaining U.S. troops in Iraq indefinitely which does little to incentivize the Iraqi government to deliver the political reforms needed to promote civil unity whereas Barack Obama's threat to withdraw U.S. troops does more to incentivize the Iraqi government to deliver the necessary reforms. As the threat of global terrorism persists, neither John McCain or Hillary Clinton have demonstrated any understanding of the complexities of building and maintaining global alliances to confront this common enemy. America needs a president with demonstrated commander in chief qualities, leadership and judgment. America needs Barack Obama.
