The bottom line is, people in this town are not conscientious of others and are not aware of their surroundings when they drive.

Someone blindly followed the construction car through the work zone and went through a hole when she shouldn't have. You know what your car can handle and you know what it can't. If your car gets damaged, it's because you chose to drive through, despite better judgment.

How do you think cars end up floating in four feet of water on the news in floods? Yeah. Same mentality. They keep driving, despite better judgment.

The complaint is still worth investigating because, obviously, people need to drive home. If the road was not safe to be driven on, there should have been a detour put in place, if at all possible. That would be where the construction crew is at fault here. They didn't have driver's best interests in mind. They just did what they were told and ripped up the road.

People seem to have trouble with understanding cause and effect anymore. Actions have ramifications, but people don't get paid to think.
