You mean, you ACTUALLY looked at her throttle to make sure it's not the same problem? Are you a lawyer for Toyota?

The trhottle body failure is common in Camry year 2003 or 2004 model. My mechanic was telling me yesterday he fixed one car with same problem. So Toyota should accept this as part failure and should have recall for this part. Someone should find lawyer to take this case and ask reimbusrment from Toyota, becasue there are too many complaints about this specific problem.

I believe Toyota will not do anything until a few deaths have occurred. We all have been lucky that we have not been killed when our camrys stalled. I am so pissed about the price fixing of the part, since we can only get it through Toyota. But most importantly is how dangerous it is to drive a camry. I am scared... my car is being fixed but what good is that knowing that at anytime the throttle body can fail again. I said I would never buy a Dodge again and it was not because of safety reasons. Now Toyota has been added to the list... DANGEROUS defect it needs to be recalled!!!!!!!!!!

No one said you have to get it fixed by a Toyota dealer. Except maybe your Toyota dealer

I have a Toyota Camry 2005 with 43000 miles, with perfect maintenance record. I just spent $1350 to replace the throttle. This is my first Toyota and I never had any mechanical problem this expensive with Chevrolet, Buick and Mitsubishi I've had.

I just had my 2005 Camry die as I entered the Interstate highway. Tried to start again numerous time not luck. had it towed to the local Toyota Dealer and it cost me $1207.00 to fix. There got to be some true defect in these parts. The cost to replace is OUTRAGEOUS!!!. I gotta believe dealer gets something for the old part and it end up getting remanufactured. I ask the dealer for the old part whe I paid for it a day later and it I didn't ask up front too bad. It has been discarded already.

My wife's 2004 Camry die. It turned out to be the throttle body. It cost me $906.56 for the part and $5.66 for the gasket. I kept the old part and took it apart. It is seized due to the overwhelming rust all over the interior section of the plastic cover. My guess Toyota has made this defective part and are refusing to acknowledge it so they are not blamed for any incidents/accidents and making us, the customers, pay for their faulty design/part. Does anyone know what to do to starta class action lawsuit?

I and my family have had nearly 15 Toyotas during my life and this is the first weird problem I've ever had. Not going to jump on the Toyota hatin' wagon, but this does grind my gears a little..... I had mine cleaned for 32.00 total

Sad to know that my 2004 Camry with only 67,000 miles need a Throttle Body. Between the cost of the part and labor over $1,000. Since it's electrical my tech guy said not to purchase a used one. I'm very sorry that I purchased this vehicle. The really sad thing is that the new Throttle Body may fail sooner than this one.

Contact Jordan Ziprin at jzipaz@gmail.com. Believe me, Toyota can't wait for this lawyer to go to his Eternal Reward. Jordan was the first person to ever complain about this problem and remarkably he's a lawyer which apparently doesn't amount to much. If enough Toyota owners (or former owners) with legitimate invoices come forward a good class action lawsuit can be filed. Jordan can't find you. You find him. Email him.
