I have a 2003 Camry and I was having the exact same problem. My light would flash, next my air would start blowing hot air. Of course, I replaced the air conditioner compressor (still flashing). Brought a new relay fuse (still flashing)– brought a new filter(still flashing). Took my car back to Toyota and they told me it would $1600 to replace everything that’s the only way they would warranty my air conditioner. By the way after replacing 4 relay fuse due to a defect the fuses, I went couldn’t take it anymore. I went back to the compressor show and ask did I have an electrical problem. Since I had replaced all new part on my air conditioner I need to replace the wires, since the previous wires were defected also. If you’ve replace all the parts associated with your air conditioner please have someone replace your wires. The cheap wires almost cost me an additional $1600 – WOW. Toyota will demand you pay them to replace everything, even if it’s been replaced.
Thanks for all of your reviews, this is where I received my aware about my light flashing! |

I have been having the same problem for the past few months. I have tried changing the filter but still giving me problems. What should i be doing?
|
|
|
My opinion is that it's NOT the cabin air filter as I changed mine out 10 months ago. It's not going to be THAT dirty in such a short period of time, especially seeing how the light never blinked in the past and I have had the car for over 8 years (03 Camry). This was the first cabin air filter change. I simply turned the AC off and turned it back on and it stopped blinking and the air started cooling off again.

Does the light stop blinking as soon as you change the cabin filter, or does it take some time?
|
|
That's what happened to me and then it would come on again more frequently until it wouldn't quit blinking. I changed out the relay for about $15- and over a year later still having no problem with the A/C. I tore open the old relay and took microscope photos of the corrosion on the contacts that must have built up over time. The photos are linked to Photobucket in a previous post I did several pages back. |

The same happened to me last week. i read the comments for the same problem in 5 different forums. First i checked the bell tension, second, checked for any abnormal sound from compressor & magnetic clutch. third, cleaned the filter but the light still blinked, finally, i replaced the Magnetic Clutch Relay (with 90 days dealer warranty cost me $99 but no stock, haha i have to chose the after market $45 asked for a discount down to $30 because they give no warranty). haha, it worked. i post this to thank all the friends in these forums and hopefully help some people in the future.

Judged: 1 condensor .that the one go bad. |

Its because of engine temperature. Once AC get started engine and compressor generate heat (a lot)
to prevent damages heat controller stops AC and blink the light. Check engine and AC cooling fans. Turn off AC for a while, run car on high speed so wind help to cool it down. |

fixed my aussie 2003 Camry's A/C blinking light problem: followed exactly what you guys did and switched the MG CL relay with Horn relay... the A/C light no longer blinks now, air is cool and horn doesn't blow which proved the MG CL relay was bad.
am replacing the faulty MG CL relay part #90987-02022 (which is known for causing A/C issues with 2001-2004 Toyotas) with #90987-02028. cheers mates ;) |

This site is the best. I was having the blinking a/c light problem on my 03 Camry too with no cold air (compressor clutch wasn't engaging)so on your advice, I bought a relay from Advance Auto Parts #R6034 for $20.00 and put it in and a/c works great now. This relay is in the black box under the hood. Just carefully take the top cover off and it is the rectangular relay marked "MG CLT". Take a screw driver and gently pry under it and get it out and pop the new one in.
The dealer wanted to evacuate my system, recharge and look for leaks, then see if the problem was electrical or mechanical. Oh yah, add a 95.00 diagnostic fee to all of that. Would have easily been over 300.00 bucks. I told them no thanks. That was Toyota Center in West Columbia, S.C.. What a rip-off bunch of idiots. |

Definitely check that relay before you do anything else! I blew a bunch of money on new compressor etc and still had the problem. I went to my Toyota dealer and insisted that the relay was the problem. So they quickly put in the new white relay. Success!

I tried to change my air filter but it doesn't have a little tray to pull out and clean filter? It's different I have a 2002 Camry sportivo

If your green ac light is blinking and the ac is not working.... it is likely the Relay to the AC Compressor which islocated in the fuse box. Located relay MG CLT under the diagnostic chart on the fuse cover... remove it with a needle nose pliers (wiggle back & forth up & out). Tap the relay a few times on the top gently and re-install it. See if this works!

Hi, for all flashing a/c button, replace the compressor clutch relay in the fuse panal. the relay is located nest to battery under hood. The relay is the only White relay in the fuse panal. Buy a relay from Auto Zone for $14.99 duralast number 5916, and your problem will go away. Toyota sells the relay for $80. thanks for sharing. |

A/C button flashing, Made a mistake on part no. the correct duralast part no. is 20382. thank you

Guys, just share. It's work like a charm for my US toyota camry 2003 V6. First change AC cabin filter (6 $ from eBay) still blinking then change relay (14 $ from Advance Auto Part ), now the aircon work nicely. No discharge battery before put the relay.

I have a 2003 Camry also with the AC light blinking, I changed the cabin filter today....at first it wouldn't work then all of a sudden it started working, but for only like 2 minutes. Now it's back to the same thing..... any one else go through that and can tell me what I can do or need to do?

emjepe is right it probably is the relay. my camry after 250k miles started the same blinking light. vacumed and recharged system that lasted about six months started again.i was sure it was low on freon so i overcharged the system by mistake i have old heated system u can finish charging after u run out of vacum. i replaced the relay started engine hit button the ac clutch started to chatter and smoke.so any body who tells u u need a compressor at less miles than mine they are crazy.even after locking up the compressor too much pressure still works fine.best damn compressor in the world.p.s. toyota rules i have a tundra also
