I own a 2005 Toyota Camry SE and have noticed that the paint on the front bumber assembly is flaking off leaving a matte black finish. Is any one having, or heard of, such a problem. I maybe have 5 or 6 spots now, but they continue to get worse.

I purchased a 2006 camry in July 2006..the paint scratches too easily. I drove my 1990 Toyota for 17 years and it had a very different type of paint...it did not scratch and flake as does the paint on my new 2006 vehicle.... ...I think that we should notify the Toyota corporate offices because they have allowed the paint quality to deteriorate.

I used "Glare" nonsilicone polish on my car...there are no swirl marks...just "high gloss" sheen...it is available on line as are other products that remove spots, tree sap, bird droppings etc...regular paste wax and the wax used in the commercial car washing establishments leave swirls on the camry paint...I am not happy with the paint on this vehicle!

From the day I bought my 2006 Camry 1/2006 manufactured 10/2005 in KY, the paint scratches very easily. It seems to have only one thin weak clearcoat layer. I used a synthetic expensive car polish and no longer see the scratch/swrill problem - for now....

I have called Toyota and started a file and they said that a dealer rep would be calling me. I took it to a body shop and they told me that the pain was blistering and then flaking off. Will keep you posted.

I have a 2007 Toyota Camry which picked up from dealer less than 2 months ago and the car already has 3 scratches on it. I think paint paint is very soft. The dealer said the car is black and that's why they are noticable. I've 3 American cars in the past and never have had this problem.

I purchased a 2006 Toyota Camry in Nov, 2006. Color silver. I too have found that the paint chips off very easily. I must have nearly 100 paint chips from 3/16 inch to pinhead size. It looks like large grains of sand could have caused many of the chips. It would be to the benefit of all if we could take the problem back to Toyota. Anyone else concerned? Interested? Willing to speak out?

I bought my 2007 Camry June 2006. The car car had it's first two paint chips in less than 3200 Miles and an additional 4 chips by 6000 Miles. The dealer insists it is impact damage and not covered by warranty; however the dealer is willing to touch up the paint chips. This does not fix the problem. When the chipped area is viewed with X15 magnifying glass, there is no evidence of base material damage therefore this is definitely a bonding issue and needs to be addressed by the mfg.

It would be to the benefit of all if we could take the problem back to Toyota. Anyone else concerned? Interested? Willing to speak out? I have had my 2006 XLE since 7/06. It is Black and gets terrible "swirl" marks when washed. It gets scratched by the slightest touch...I am very unhappy with this paint and I must continually polish it with an expensive wax in order for the shoddy paint to look ok. I spoke to a dealer and he said that Toyota is only using one coat of paint on its vehicles.Other cars are a rich, deep black color...the paint on this vehicle is cheap and grey looking. We should notify the corporate offices because I have read that the paint on the new 2007 cars is also of a poor quality. I drove my 1990 toyota for many years and the paint was excellent. My teenage son drove it with his friends and there was never a problem with scratches and chipping as I see with this vehicle. Yes I am willing to speak out about this matter...It is a wonderful vehicle they are doing themselves a disservice by lowering their quality standards.

I just purchased a 2006 Red Camry. Within one week, the hood has several white scratches and spots where the paint is off. I am contacting Toyota Corp. to see what is the problem/and what can be done.

I purchased a 2007 Camry in June of 2006 and noticed 3 or 4 chips in the front bumper and hood which is about the same amount that my 2000 Solara has after 120,000 miles. Paint seams very thin and soft and prone to flaking off.
