The steering wheel noise is a lubrication issue I'm told. The dealer here says every 3 years or so it needs to be lubed? Ridiculous.

Two weeks ago, I heard water flushing in the engine. It was coolant leaking from the engine. After research and talking to several mechanics, I learned that it is two headbolts are stripped. Apparently this a very frequent problem for 2002 and 2003 Camry's. The headbolts that connect the intake matifold to the engine block are stripping due to uneven dispersion of heat.This is a manufacturer problem. If everyone made a complaint to safecar.gov then an investigation could take place. I am really disappointed. I loved my vehicle up until two weeks ago and now I'm researching another vehicle to purchase. I will never purchase a Toyota again!

My 2002 Camry SE 4 cyl is now ten years old and I've had it six years...I haven't had a single problem that wasn't my fault or a minor issue. My steering wheel squeaks but, if I wasn't lazy, I could grease it and fix the problem (I kind of enjoy driving my passengers nuts with it)...air con just went out, but I consider that a minor comfort issue that's easy to fix...catalytic converter needed to be replaced this month, but I was able to do that for under 300. As it is, I have been extremely pleased with my Camry and am looking forward to buying a newer Toyota when the time comes to replace her. I am actually shocked to hear about this many problems with the Camry, when I've been worry free and expect to continue to be worry free for some time. Sounds like some people got the bad seeds.
