Please for your own sake if you are thinking about buying a Saturn look up their recalls. Espeacially the Vue. They are in a class action lawsuit now.( transmission problems) I'm pretty sure noone will ever see a penny. I couldn't pay for a transmission and keep up the payments so it was repo'd. It was only a 2004 model. I had it less the 3 months before the transmission went out It sat in my driveway for at least another 4. Now I have no car and out $7.000 dollars. As is purchase. At least I'm not alone there 150,000 of us with some horror story.

Saturn is the best car experience I've had over the past forty years. Bought two of them. Service was always excellent. Current car is eleven years old and gets 32 mpg on the highway ... with the air conditioner going.

Sure will miss the brand and the culture that it brought to the showroom and service floor.

Guess GM never made as much money from the line because the car was reasonably priced and the 'planned obsolecence' didn't work for them.

Annual car costs for personal property taxes and car insurance was always relatively cheap.

Someone please save this car!

Who the heck cares what happens to Saturn? They make horrible cars just like all the other American car companies do. I hope once they (and the rest of GM) are gone, they never come back. American car companies have not had pride in their products since the early 70's. I hope they all go out of buisness. DOWN WITH THE UAW!!!!!!

You can't blame it all on the UAW, not that I have any fondness for the union. The workers can only make what the executives ordain. If the suits are designing dud cars, the UAW can't do anything about that. If the design of a transmission is inherently flawed, you can't blame that on the assembler. And you can't blame the UAW that GM's other divisions kept resources from Saturn because they didn't like the competition. The decline and fall of Saturn rests squarely on the shoulders of the suit and tie executives who obviously didn't know how to run a car company. The workers and dealerships get the drive shaft, the executives get golden parachutes.

Oh well I have never liked Saturn. I'm More for Honda and Lexus and Benz. Saturn had no meaning to there cars. I don't like the look of them small. SO I really don't care if they do loose I will never waste my money on there cars and that is real.

well I think if they would design a car thats actually made to last more then 36 thousand miles GM would be doing a lot better. If Gms price were equal to the quality they would have to pay us to take their garbage.

I have been a Saturn owner for years. My wife and I have really enjoyed ours. I have a '99 SL1 that I bought brand new. It now has 143,000 miles on it and it still drives great. We just bought a 2008 Aura last year which we really enjoy. My next car will probalby not be a GM. Way to go GM you just lost another customer.

I agree. I've had some of the so-called best rated cars and a few of them have been lemons. My 07 View is roomy and gets great gas mileage. I have not had an ounce of problems with it and the guys at the Saturn dealership were amazing--best purchasing experience I've ever had. My sister drove hers for years and years and now her son owns it and it's like the energizer bunny--still going and going! I'm sad about this whole thing and now my husband wants me to sell it..I'm not willing at this point.

All good things must come to an end. Its unfortunate for all of us who might become unemployed. I would like to thank those who have trusted us with their vehicles over the years.

I noticed "Saturn Tech" that you did not dispute my post. My Saturn Vue was a 2004 that transmission never should have gone out that soon. But, being the 2nd owner I got a lemon and now I will pay dearly ($7,000) to the loan company who had no mercy to help me buy another transmission and now I have no car. And I truely mean I have NO car. ASk other Saturn owners how they feel (150,000) plus. Am I crying in my cereal? You bet I am. And there is nothing I can do about it . I've contacted the lawyers who are doing the class action lawsuit. Sorry, you don't qualify for this or that reason. And now that GM took over these other people may not see a dime. This lawsuit has been going on for over 3years. Did I know about? NO!! I only heard about 5 months ago but to late it was repo'd. Which was a direct result from the crappy transmission. Yes , I'm a little bitter about Saturns. You would be to if this happen to your car. I did everything right- took it to a mechanic got the car-fax. Well I will get over this someday (once the loan is paid off) and those of you with newer models beware it could very well happen to you!!

Jewels, it is very unfortunate you had a bad experience with your Vue. I own 4 saturns and my troopers have not skipped a beat (over 300,000 miles on my SL1). Any Tech can tell you that all brands have their issues. I have worked at other dealers and none compare to the working enviroment and culture Saturn offers. Many customers have come with gifts for us an have expressed (with great emotion) their gratitude for years of service. As a Tech, it feels great to know that the pride I have in my work is noticed and appreciated.

sorry Jewels you had a bad experience with your Saturn Vue, but I bought my Saturn L200 back in 2006 with 63k miles, and I do lots of city driving. I now have close to 170k miles on it and still runs great. I even added nice profile tires and rims on it with "tent" right after I got the car...doesn't even look like the same car. But out of all that driving, the engine runs good. I kept my car maintenance with frequent oil changes and routine maintenance (changed out transmission fluid/filter; tune-up; etc). So maybe you ended up with a "bad apple". As with all car models, there will be at least one car out of the bunch that will turn out giving their owner problems, but it does not mean the brand of the car is entirely bad.Good luck next time and always check "Consumer Reports" before purchasing a car. They will tell you a lot about the car before you decide to buy.

I was shock to hear about Saturn going "belly up"... GM probably decided to do this because they knew there would be "no more" BAIL OUT for them and changes had to be made. So maybe Saturn was not doing well with sales. Sad to see them go because they had came such a long way.
