GM lets Saab die

This is a true Saab story for sure.

It is sad to see it go, just like pontiac, saturn, oldmobile, etc.
Its all Thanks to the democrats that created the economic meltdown by forcing banks to lend money to people because of their color rather than their ability to pay the loans back. Liberal affirmative action loans have single handedly wrecked the earth's economy for years and what is their solution? More liberalism in the form of marxism, bailouts, handouts and social programs.

The dem's meddling in the free market has cause worldwide pain and disruption. They should be held responsible for their crimes.

I really felt bad for the Saab legacy when they started slapping the badge on the Chevy Trailblazer and the Subaru Impreza.

This, perhaps, is the best thing to happen for the brand since the consumers have shunned it since GM ownership control.

GM homogenized the brand too much. It was part of the GM "Clone Wars" mentality - take a model and tweak it just a little, then hang a different badge and price tag on it.

It's a shame no company could cut a deal to buy it out. I understand the name may be for sale.

Interesting how GM is willing to let so many of its investments just die out. Rather than prop up the brands, they just poured dull and poorly engineered product into them, injection molded some different badges, and then just wrote the whole deal off from its books.

How come we are in a much deeper mess now? It's only been a year and we have already had three terror attacks. The idiot Bush kept us safe for seven or eight years straight. Absolutely correct. It was Barney Frank and Chris Dodd {that just resigned with numerous corruption allegations} under the Clinton Administration that started the mortgage mess, and then after it all falls apart, the Dems use Barney Frank and Chris Dodd again, to fix the mess they started.

Obama and his tripe about wanting to have an "open and transparent government with partisan cooperation". Give me a break!

ford should by SAAB..its a much better fit than Land Rover or Jaguar!!! Jag competed directly with the top end Lincoln's, and rover gave ford nothing but quality headaches! Saab's euro performance edge is on track with ford's new design and performance direction i think, and could increase ford's product line with some zippy euro sedan's.. all of euro is much more green conscious than US, so that fits also... come on ford, SOS (save our saabs!!hehe)

I've got a pink SAAB 9-3 Turbo. I drove it up to Canada from New York when I moved here.

Going to trade it in soon for a pink Smart car.

I never understood how Saab existed into the 80's, much less 2010. Expensive, ordinary specs, and the world's stodgiest styling.

Yeah, right, Glen Beck, GM's mismanagement is the fault of the Democrats, not your hero (zero) who occupied the White House for the previous eight years, with a Republican Congres for six years.
