They have already said mitibushi and dakota are on the chopping blocks. Midsize non fuel effiecient trucks are not hot sellers, people want a tiny truck for some storage and fuel economy or they need a real truck.

They announced months ago that the Nissan will be built by chrysler BUT it will be built in Mexico. The original plan was for SLPN to pickup the HD Rams that Mexico builds now and for warren to pickup some of SLPN's trucks...BUT they way things are going who knows who will be building the Rams. They did say and I have read it in recent articles that Mexico will build the Nissans.Good luck

Yea it did change, those are the recent changes. People want a fuel efficient vehicle. If they need a truck they buy a truck. The dakota is a great midsize truck, but what you are seeing is trucks like the ranger in demand. Little trucks with 4 cylinders that get 26+ on the highway. Ford has already announced plans to keep the ranger plant open longer. The dakota is in the tank like the whole SUV market. Even when/if gas comes down it will take several years for the demand to come back.

I wonder why they are not making a standard cab Dakota with a smaller engine ...seems like that would sell well..I think w/o that option Chrysler priced themselves out of the mid truck market.
