I disagree with the author/reviewer. I test drove the 2009 EX-L NAV Touring Model this weekend. It is A LOT of car - in fact too much! Felt like a Hummer not the '03 or '05 Pilots I have owned. The ride was trucklike vs the finer car-like ride of the 03 and 05. Gas mileage in my 20 mile test averaged 18.9 mpg on combined suburban and highway driving, and 22.3 mpg on just highway alone. Less than my current 05 Pilot. Gadgets were numerous, but hardly intuitive (and I am a gadget-guy!). I tried and tried to figure out how to easily see my instant and average mpg readings, and finally had to resort to looking in the owners manual. Even setting the memory seats (a nice addition) required consulting the manual. When I drove it home for my spouse to examine, she took one look and told me to get with the green program if it wasn't a hybrid. She has a point. This gas guzzler's body is hardly the windswept look of the CR-V which is looking more attractive by the day with its 4 cylinder engine and 28 mpg. The new 09 Pilot gets a thumbs-down. Buy the 2008 model instead!
