Vietnam has some problem with corruption but we can't jump to conclusion that the buyer is bad person.

Your comments are stupid. When did the last time you return to Vietnam?
At the moment, Vietnam already privatized 50% of their industries. There are thousands of big businesses, they are private ownerships. Some of them earn a lot of money from their businesses, so what is wrong with that???
A lot of land owners were lucky to sell their land to the developers for a lot of money.
The story of the rich in Vietnam will be the same with countries like Japan, Thailand, Malaysia where the rich from the land ownership could reach up to 50% among the rich, simply the land becomes more valuable when the pouplation is growing, but land doesn't grow.
So if there is an individual in Vietnam who could afford to buy an expensive car, we all should be happy for the country. Don't be jealous or feel bad.
If you love to live in USA, I don't know how much you per year, let say you make 50,000 dollars per year. I'm sure the CEO of your corpration could make 5 or 10 million dollars per year including salary plus bonus.
That's why I don't like your stupid anti-Hanoi idiots. You complain the Communist Party didn't give you opportunity to make money. Now Vietnam is trading with all economic powers like USA, Japan, China, Russia, France, UK, Germany, Canada, S. Korea..etc..That's why Vietnam has thousands of private businessmen or businesswomen who earn millions of dollars. They have money so they could buy whatever they want, right? what is wrong?
Like Bill Gates, he owns a 200-hundred-million dollar mansion and he donates billion too.
How do you know if the person who buy a million dollar Maybach car might donate a lot of money for the charity???

I totally agree with the previous post. Too many Vietnamese is the States are bitching their own homeland all the time without looking at the fact. Vietnamese private businesses now can be found anywhere in the world. In fact, when I was back in Vietnam like 2 years ago, most of the richest people are not working for the government. Instead, they own businesses. People have been underestimated Vietnam for long, think of it as a poor country but you never know unless you see it. Also, I can get a job working for the government pretty easilyy but the reason I don't want to work for them just because government employee are paid with a crappy wage compare with who working in the private sector. People think that working for the government would get a really good income but they don't want to accept the fact that government employees also can build up their businesses from dirt ground. The neighbor of my family when I was a kid now is one of the top level of the authority, but people never knew that he was once so damn poor, carrying water from the Red River for everyday use so he doesn't have to pay a government support price water from the pipe. People don't know that he made alot of cloth diaper for 10 years. People don't know that he sleep only 4 hours a day for years. People don't know that beside working for the government, he has built a famous Vietnamese clothes brand. They just thinking of him as a top authority and that "MUST" make him rich.
Ivan Ngo's comment is not only stupid, but also showing that the haters are always jealous with what other people got but they don't. People have been working hard for the past 30 years to reconstruct the country and they are deserve for their work, not like those idiots just fled away and bitch about their fatherland, about their people.
These people really don't know what is going on and just want to destroy the achievement of a whole nation. Sorry, but I think you shouldn't have a Vietnamese last name.

LOL. "Jealous"? I guess the VC felt that way when VNamese oversea returned to VN. Now, since VN is entering the WTO, "it's revenge time".

"Jealous" is when your neighbor has something you don't have. "Jealous" is when someone close to you have something that you don't have. VN is on the other side of the world(if VNamese oversea live in North America) and nothing in VN that American here don't have, so where's the "jealous"? And, almost all of us "boat people" are now American, and last time I heard, VN is no where close to be like the US. Where's the "jealous"?

How stupid of you commies to say VNamese American are "jealous" of VN, still a poor country.

Another thing, WTO is not success. It is only the beginning. There are still many changes that VN needs to make. The biggest one, get rid of Communism completely.

Why are you so defensive? Unless you have something to hide. Only the guilty one reacted like you did.

The more you explain, the more I question your motive.

To the stupid Firrea,
You want to question my motive. These are my motives:
I love Vietnam and I want Vietnam to be a peaceful country and I'm glad the current Vietnamese government did an excellent job in security, economy and diplomacy. Vietnam is a good friend to all super powers like USA, China, Russia, Japan, UK. Specially the diplomatic relation with China and USA.
If your ex-Saigon puppets are in the position of Hanoi, I'm sure your stupid guys will create the border problem with China and even causing another war with China. And not only that, your stupid guys will cut a big chunk of our fatherland & giving back to Cambodia and let some stupid Montagnard people creates a new nation in the central Vietnam. Like I said earlier on the other forum, all of the ex-Saigon leaders before 1975 were trained by the French Colonist Military School as guard dogs for the French including Diem & Thieu. When French withdrew from Vietnam, they promoted these guard dogs from the rank of seargent to senior colonel. And when Diem became prime minister he promoted these guard dogs to the rank of general. That's the reason why all of the top leaders of ex-Saigon run away & fast before Saigon was liberated.
If you don't believe, just ask your father or grandfather or research from library.
The fact, your ex-Saigon puppets love to see a forever poor Vietnam to fit with your stupid propaganda.

allen, I'm not like you so I'm not going to call you stupid. You will have to make that decision yourself.

And please, stop with the same old report that you got from your boss. I heard you before, and I see your views. Even though they are totally one-sided and smell like my AsHo, but I can understand why you're so defensive. So you don't need to repeat, repeat, and repeat.

Yep, that's the capitalist world. If you want to do business, you need to make a lot of friends. Sometime you even need to kiss some asHo to move up the latter. But I guess you commies don't want to use the term "kiss some asHo" but "make friends". I understand, but becareful not to accidentally "kissed some asHo", ok? Sometime you might be confused with "making friends" and "kissing asHO". ;)

The odd are, the guy who bought this Maybach is likely a high gov't officer or relative of a high gov't officer. I will give you 10 to 1 if he is none of the above.

As I said before, the buyer might be a rich businessman. His money is clean that is why he openly spends it. You always have negative perspective about VN. Seem like they had kicked your ass so paitful in the past.

Yep, it MIGHT be a rich businessman or a rich corrupted officer. It MIGHT be that his money is clean or not clean. It MIGHT be that this is a "negative perspective", or it's true. It MIGHT be that you are a well trained VC trying to defend the corrupted VN gov't or a brainwashed peasant.

By looking at the history of VN, I will bet he is a high rank officer or relative of one.

You don't know anything about VN. You only see some distorted and fabricated news in oversea VNmese's newspapers and used that as your knowledge. You always think that you are smart. the fact is you are very shallow. If you got your ass kicked in the past, just accept it. Because you are such a problem child and have trouble behavior.

Am I that special for you to talk about? No, no...please, I don't deserve the attention.

Thank you. The press here would have everyone believe that the world is going to he.. in a basket. The world is small and getting smaller. Stories of individuals who seek and find success is mocked and trivialized. Certainly the complete story is not told, but then, this is the value of a free press.
