H rover wrote: I have a 2004 liberty that has 68,000 miles .This is an odd problem which only occurs when the vehicle is running for extended period on the highway. The radio/ cd player shuts off and the a/c fan stops running sinultaneously. After the vehicle is shut off and cools, both begin to function normally. What the heck? i have a 2010 liberty that is doing the same thing please let me know if you found a fix.

All I can say is that the Jeep Or " Heep" as I like to now call it was one of the worst mistakes I have ever made when it comes to buying a vehicle, the list of things that are wrong with it is just a down right dirty shame. I have always kept up the maintenance and drove it like a sane person, but it still just ended up being a turd...sorry but they should have never built these pieces of junk.

im hearing alot of the same problems. alot of what im hearing is speed sensor problems. they cause stauling, no speed omenter, jumpingin and out of high gear. ive been reading up on this and hearing that the wires could be shorting out on the frame by the rear differential.

I own a 2003 Jeep Liberty Sport and have been having some issued with my radiator cooling fan. The original fan went out and I replaced it with one that I purchased at Murray's O'Reilleys autoparts but after a few months it also stopped working. When I was changing it I noticed the pins that connect the fan to the vehicle had burned and melted together. I replaced the connector and the fan and once again a few months later it has burned and melted the adaptor from both ends. What can be the cause of this?

Do you think it might have something to do with the radiator? because my Jeep Liberty 2003 Sport, has had many problems with the radiator and i had to replace it twice.

may possibly be one of the tire valve censors. they tell you if you have low tire presure. if one has failed ( including the spare tire ) it will set off the engine light. Moni wrote: Anyone have any ideas? my check engine light has been on for 8 mos..... have had 2 diagnostics, a tune up and about 2 oil changes in that time period. NO ONE can figure it out. Anyone else has the same problem or have any ideas? After the oil changes or the tune up, it would go off for a day, then i get in the car the next morning for work and it comes on again... My 2003 Jeep Liberty has the air bags light on always. Plus, the alarm didn't want to turn off. Then the lights make changes on there own. Probably an electric problem? Please help.

WOW I hate to sound like a dick buddy but you may have fried your bearings in your differentials and your transfer case for doing something stupid like that. In the first place why would you put your jeep in 4x4 if your driving on a paved road without snow? Its not like it will save your life with the added traction. No it doesn't mean you will have all wheel drive like an STi. When engaging in 4x4 you need a certain amount of slip in order to not fry the bearings in your gear boxes. Asphalt is a no no because your already getting awesome grip, and wet roads in the rain do not count either. Icy roads, mud, muddy wet dirt roads, sand and snowy slippery roads can justify putting your jeep in 4x4. I hope that helped.

Your a pee brain , you should be able to go in 4 wheel drive and not destroy your transfer case You must work for. Chrysler No good 4x4 should cause problems , Unless maybe your driving from new York to California in the summer 90 degrees Then your worst problem would be gas mileage and tire wear . There used to be full time 4x4 s remember Lock out hubs were popular options ,but most did not come from the factory that way I think you are full of yourself

I have come to despise my 2004 Jeep Liberty. I have been having problems with the engine that no one has been able to fix, including the dealer. This vehicle is unrefined and a gas guzzler. This will be the last time I buy an American car!

Carol Young wrote: My Jeep will start up and run great till it warms up then it will stall, it has to set around 15 to 20 minutes before it will restart. When it stalls and you try to restart it the key when in run position the RPM's will jump back and forth on the tack. The dealer said to tune it up, so we cleaned the throttle body and new spark plugs and need idle position sensor, but did no good still doing the same thing. Please any thought would help. i used to have a ford ranger with the exact same problem. after taking the vehicle to different mechanics with not good results. i friend told my to change the spark plugs cables and check the coil. The best way to do it is at night, turn on the engine, openr the hood, keep the area as dark as possible, then turn on the engine and watch the engine if you see sparks or small lightining in the cables they are bad, need to be replaced. Hope this help.
