Wish I could post a photo here. I believe I have leakage inside my head light lenses for my 2001 Accent, although I've asked several people to look at my lenses and give me their opinion on if the issue is inside or outside the lens. I get both answers.

My headlights are cloudy, but I don't think it's the normal oxidation that occurs on the outside of the headlight because when I look at my lenses, I can see drips, it's not a complete uniform cloudiness covering the ENTIRE lens. A few years ago my car was paintballed up by some pranksters. I can't recall if my headlights were hit, but they probably were. I didn't wash the paintballs off the car, the rain took care of that eventually. But perhaps the oil in the 'paint' ended up eating away at my lenses and the issue is on the outside? Or perhaps I have a leak in the seal between the lens and assembly (is there a seal??) and rain has gotten in and caused oxidation from the inside?????

In either case, I need new lenses. My question is, can I just replace the lens or do I have to replace the whole assembly? I've been pricing assemblies and they're between $100 and $125 each. I do not see anywhere that sells just the lenses. Also, if I do find just the lens, is that not a good idea because the seal would be worn since my car's a 2001? My next stop is the u-pull-it yards in my area to see how much cheaper I can get replacement lenses or assemblies.

Any thoughts? I'm suprised this topic hasn't been brought up yet.
