General Motors is merging 8 brands into 4 channels

General Motors says it's merging its eight brands into four channels in order to streamline product development and sales and further differentiate the brands. via WOOD-TV Grand Rapids

Marketing is GM's weakest link now. The foreign competitors make feel good advertisements, while most of GM's are dull and stale. New agencies are probably the best way to jump start advertising.

they really have to reduce brands... i know... change all brand names... for example instead of a pontiac G6 or a chevy Impala you would have a GM G6 and a GM Impala.
that would solve all their problems
