I have the same problem. It comes and goes. Does anybody have a remedy?
Same here...if you notice, the RPMS go up and down. I wonder if it has to do with the torque converter?

We have had problems with our 04 pilots over 10 times where it completely goes out of any electrical powers and won't start. Even the first month we bought it. If we wait a few minutes, it turns back on. We believe the issue may be related to the phone charger between the front seats.

We are having the exact same problem since last 2 months. I went to the dealer, but the annoying sound did not happen. For our car, we are experiencing this issue only in the evenings...

Purchased a 2006 Pilot on June 10th. Was unable to drive before purchase as they had to bring it from another dealership and then had titled it to me before giving me the keys. As we drove out of the dealership we noticed a noise that sounded like a tractor trailer bearing down on us but there was no truck around. The next day my husband noticed a noise and we took it back to the dealer ship and they said "No problem" . My husband has ascertained that when driving in 1500-1800 RPMs we get a loud vibration like a resonance tendancy. The Honda dealership has now heard it (said it sounded like a helicopter) but can't fix it. They first replaced the rear ball bearings. Now they don't know what to do and I have a defective "NEW" car. Have any of you noticed a really loud noise? It builds to a very loud noise and then cuts out when you increase the RPMs.
sound like I has the same problem with my pilot '06 EX-L. I took it to 3 Honda dealers. They said no problem found or normal. This problem started when my car only had about 10,000 miles, now it is 23,000 miles. I had a feeling that Honda dealers knew this problem, but they did not want to fix this because it was a design problem. I will bring it back to the dealer until this problem is taken care. Please let me know if your car has been fixed. Thanks.

Hi,
I am experiencing the same issue with my 06 Pilot. While driving on 285, it suddenly stalled (twice) and i had to coast to the shoulder and restart the car. Taking the car to the dealer, was a moot exercise as they could not see any issue and the car failed to spit out any diagnostic codes. Did you hear back on your case with American Honda? Thanks.

I have a 2005 Honda Pilot. We had the clicking with no starting. The battery terminals were very gunked up. I cleaned them off completely and the car now starts fine, HOWEVER, the radio and clock are dead and the auto down and auto up feature on the driver's window does not work anymore!! Anybody have a similar problem to that?
My Auto on the driver side doesn't work either and I am also smelling a chemical smell in the cabin on my 05 Pilot EX-L... it is so annoying. I am not sure what the problem is.

I have a 2006 Honda Pilot and had to replace the battery. Now the XM button on my radio is unresponsive. I had to unlock the radio when we turned the car back on. All the other buttons on the radio seems to be working fine. When you press the XM button nothing happens. I do pay for the XM service so I really need this feature to work! Can anyone help?

I HAVE AN 03 PILOT AND HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. MY KEY WOULDN'T TURN THE IGNITION OVER. WE CALLED THE DEALER AND THE WERE TALKING SEVERAL HUNDRED FOR A NEW IGNITION AND TO RECODE MY KEYS...MY HUSBAND TO THE IGNITION OUT & TOOK IT TO A LOCKSMITH AND HAD THE TUMBLERS REPLACED AND IT ONLY COST US $15. PROBLEM SOLVED!!!!!!!
I'va also had problems with the ignition.. we tried a new key and it worked better for about a day and then back to same. I actually traded my dad his 03 Pilot for my 02 Civic (he was trading it in anyways and they were both paid off) so we could have an SUV cuz I just had a baby and we needed a bigger car.
Anyways... I just realized it's a tricky ignition. You can't ut the key in all the way and then have turn it quickly. I can usually get it on the first time now but sometimes it takes a few tries to get it started. Gonna suggest what you did to my hubby tho so i won't have to worry about it.
Thanks!

Any Pilot owner had problems with water coming from under the passenger floor mat??? Preferably 2004 pilot???
I have a 2005 Honda Pilot, and it just started the same problem this week. The floor on the passenger side is saturated with water. I had a Toyota Tacoma that came from the factory doing this, and after months of looking, they found a missing rubber grommet. I dont think it's my problem this time, but I am going to have it looked at!

I own a 2006 Honda Pilot EX with 38,000 miles on it. Just recently, whenever I'm doing a low-speed turn WITHOUT APPLYING THE BRAKES (such as to turn into a parking space or driveway), there is a rubbing sound coming from the front wheels. Only happens during low-speed turns with no brake. It's a rhythmic rubbing sound that changes with speed of car... sounds like "shhhhhhp, shhhhhp, shhhhhp."
Could it be that the rotors are slightly warped, coupled with the fact that the brake pads may need replacing (again, 38,000 miles so far on the original brake pads, but no "low brake" warning light on the dash yet!).
Thanks for your insights. Much appreciated.
Check the stainless steel brake pads guides. They can shift and rub against the rotors, especially since the brakes were just serviced.

We have a 2003 Pilot EXL, the interior is not very quiet. The windows make a slight rattling noise, and if we are going above 65mph, there is a wheezing sound coming through the windows. Has anybody else noticed this too?
I have the same problem with the exception that the locks and lights start coming on on right turns. It turns out that it seems that there is a separating of the door from the car. The mechanism that indicates the door is open or not is no longer pressing on the door. I had to put spacers in so the doors stay locked.

Did you mean it idles rough after they replaced the injector? If so, they either replaced the wrong one or mis-diagnosed the problem. How about checking the EGR?

Yes, it still idles rough after they replaced the injector...I agree, I think they mis-diagnosed the problem also...besides, the gear shifter will not go into 3rd., 2nd. or 1st. gear and the VTM-4 button is inop...the VTM-4 light and malfunction indicator light is back on

2003 honda Pilot. At 30mph, or at 50 mph, when coasting and RPM's are low (1300-1500) get a slight grinding noise that lasts for half a second, and keeps occuring every 5 seconds until speeds is increased, or gear shifts. Always goes away when dealership tries to diagnose it. When the sound occurs I get a blip in the RPM's too.
Wondering if it is a loose underbody engine panel that vibrates?? Does anyone know what I can do about this strange sound?
<quoted text>
I have the same problem. At 45 MPH when the torque converter locks up, I get a low rumble sound that comes and goes. Noise lasts 3-4 seconds and rpms drop to 1300 from 1500. Then rpms jump up to 1500 when noise quits. Sounds like it is coming from the rear differential. Driving straight, with a light foot on the gas pedal. Fresh VTM-4 fluid. Recent tranny flush. New tires, all well balanced. Anybody know what is causing this noise?
