2000 Odyssey Radio: CD error code 00

Hi! Appreciate any help!

My radio and casstte deck are working fine but when I pu in a CD , I here it try to spin up then a couple of seconds later I get a code"E-00" on the display. No sounds or anything. If I try to skip to a different song I'll see the display go to that song and then try to read it (blinking "00" on the display) then I'll get the "E-00" error code.

The owners manual says something about a focus problem? Am I looking at a new radio or can I do something to remedy the problem?

Never mind, fixed it myself!

It was a focus problem so I figured that it's like DVD player that maybe has the carriage misaligned so when the CD was going in, I yanked it in and out, banged it a few times and now it works fine!!!

This was an extremely helpful solution! It worked! I have been having this same problem for months off and on. Previously, the only thing that had been sometimes helpful was to skip forward or backward a few songs.

I have a 05 with a 6 disc cd player, a couple of weeks ago a error message came up and will not eject the disc. Now will not even go to cd mode?? PLESE HELP

I bought from a friend a 2000 Honda Odyssey I received the code but when we brought the car for change of transmission the battery went dead and I missplaced the code so I had been driving the car without radio and Cd please help me.

This solution didn't work for me yet. Where exactly did you bang on it???

Check the sides of the glove compartment for the code.

i used a converter and blow dryer to defrost fast from inside worked for a while then the radio and
the soccet died checked the fuses are fine
any help please thanks
