6 Month report: We've had our 2007 Touring for 6 months now. I reported earlier issues with the engine management system and how I didn't feel great about being told to "tighten the fuel cap". That all got resolved - there was a faulty "switch" somewhere. Other than that issue, the car has been absolutely fantastic! Only one negative: For a car as sophisticated as this, I am very surprised that you can run down the battery so unbelievably easy. There's a switch up at the steering wheel to turn on the interior lights. If you turn it on and close the doors today, tomorrow your battery will be flat. It's also easy to have happen (has happened twice to me) and the consequences are that the radio and GPS stop working until you unlock them with a pin (apart from needing a jump start). Why easy? I have a 2 year old that loves to play in the car and he throws that switch. When the doors are open, him playing, the lights are on anyway and you don't notice. I would have expected the car to, with all doors closed, after something like 30 minutes just override and shut the lights off. If you wanted them on, it would be better to toggle the switch every once in a while than have a flat battery, I think. Anyway, almost anything else is configurable on this car (even how the doors unlock/lock for either of the programmed drivers), so why not have a no-run-battery-flat option? The one other thing that happened is my wife closed the automatic tailgate and garage door at the same time. The tail flew open as there turned out to be an obstacle in the trunk and the garage door took paint of as it was coming down and the tail was going back up. Not the cars fault, though, but something to be weary of! My wife tends to drive my car more now if she's going out by herself. She likes this car (a lot) but find it just a tad too big to take out, if there's a smaller alternative. This is a big car. Personally, 6 months in, I think this is the greatest car I/we have ever owned!

I bought my 2007 Odyssey last November and I am not very impressed already because I only put on about 4 KM and I had to bring to the Dealer's shop a few times already. First time they had to change the strut as they said it was leaking because it was making noise when I turned left. I bought it in the second time as it is still making a small noise when I turn left slowly again. The noise is not consistent though and they said they could not find out anything wrong. Took the test drive with the foreman and he said he found nothing wrong with it and there was nothing he could not do.(: Now, I have to bring it in again for a wheel alignment. Not sure if anyone has these same problem.
I bought a couple new vehicles from Toyota before I've never experienced any of these things before.
Don't think, I will buy anything from Honda again. I was thinking of calling Honda Canada to express my unsatisfaction but not sure where to call.

I recently purchased a new 2007 Odyssey EXL.This unit has a distinct vibration particularly on the drivers side that is very noticable throughout the van. After 3 weeks neither the dealer nor Honda can come up with a solution to this. Upon checking at least 7 other 2008 Odysseys on the dealers lot they found the same problem. Any suggestions?

I am glad to see a lot of folks concur with me on this matter. That Honda Odssey is the best looking family van in the market. However, lacking the AWD is a major deal and it is known that Honda/Acura has a successful AWL system available in the Element, Pilot, Ridge Line, Acura MDX/RDX and the RL. We are not talking about minor option. I think in the in a family vehicle safety is number one there AWD is a must on the road whether it is wet, snow, icy roads maybe snow on a steep driveway same as hilly Up/Down road. Some how rough weather conditions etc, thanks. I wish that Honda manufacturing/engineers look into this safety issue and determine that AWD in Oddssey is needed, thanks.

James I have that problem with my 2007. When you are cruising and barely press the gas petal you get a roar and a vibration especially on driver's ide and in the steering wheel. Does that sound familiar? I took it to Honda and the said it was torque converter unloading and it was normal. Well, it isn't normal for a vehicle that I own to roar and vibrate.

I bought my 2007 ODYSSEY new 4 months ago. We immediately took a trip to Tampa (about 500 miles). I had to stop at a Honda place in Fl. because the car was driving so bad. They said all 4 tires were bad out of balance. They balanced them, it helped a lot. When we got home I took it to the dealer and told him about the tires, the roar and vibration and I told him it seems like the front end is out of alignment. THEY CHECKED IT AND DROVE IT AND GUESS WHAT? THEY COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG!!!! I was hot by then so I took the keys and drove it to the nearest front-end shop (about 3 blocks). They checked it and said it needed aligning. They aligned it and it drove better, but it still isn't right. I am hoping they have so many complaints they will HAVE to do something.

My 2007 Odyssey is in the shop right now and they are replacing the torque converter. This is after telling me three times they could not find any problem. The car felt like it was "skipping" intermittently when I drove it. Also had problems with vibration and they've told me the brake drums need to be turned - big expense for a car still under warranty. Earlier this year the A/C failed and they had to replace the compressor. I love the vehicle but haven't had the warranty free experience I would have hoped for from a Honda.

Suggested Improvements wrote: We have a 2003 Odyssey and we are very happy with it. I hope they fix the following in 2007: 1. Road Noise. You cannot talk in cell phone if you are driving a Honda 2. Provide MP3 support and a decent sounding stereo. 3. Improve gas mileage. If the road noise does not go down in 2007 model, we will go with Sienna, the quiet van Nope, they did not fix a thing. Noisy as hell. Creaks, wind noise, rattling...it's a piece of shit. I have a 2007 EX-L. Don't buy. Buy Toyota.

My2007 odyssey is going in for a new torque converter. Lucky to still be under 60,000 miles (57900) so still in drive train warrantee. Car was skipping or slipping at 40 and 55 mph. Also at low speeds on occasion. There is a Honda service bulletin on this which has them update the software to the computer for the transmission. If this doesn't work, which it didn't in my case, the torque converter needs replacement.

My 2007 Odyssey just got back from the shop. After 5 attempts at one dealer to fix the problem and hearing that there was none. I took it to another dealer. By then the bulletin was out on the torque converter problem. They first upgraded the computer but it only made worse. The van drives fine now but I still need to have the brake disks turned. The vibration from the brakes started at 20k miles. In addition, I have annoying wind noise from the windshield. Not happy with my choice with Honda. I won't buy another Honda again.

I would only turn brake discs once. After that, replace them. I would think a glass shop could check for your wind noise.

Just curious - did the replacement of the torque converter fix the issues? KDS1 wrote: My 2007 Odyssey is in the shop right now and they are replacing the torque converter. Your story sounds like mine! Just finally found a dealership which could identify the issue. I wish I read this last month when one dealership told me it was the way I drove. I'm 38, didn't learn to drive yesterday. Very frustrating, but still under warranty thankfully. A Cantu wrote: My 2007 Odyssey just got back from the shop.
