Nice car. Great handlign and quiet in comparison to my 2003 Odyssey.

Shame on Honda for not making daytime running lights available as a standard for this level vehicle.
Some are made in Canada where it is required.
In California the lights should come on automatically with the wipers as it is the law.

I have a 2005 Honda Odyssey. It has windshield problem (very noisy, wind houwling) at speed between 40-50 MPH. I have 2 other friends who have the same problem as well. Just wondering if any of the owner outthere experience the same. Thanks.

YES! So much that I'm seriously considering trading it in after a year. I have the Touring with DVD/Nav, but I truly miss my 2004 Sienna. Looking at the 2006 Sienna Limited, but wondering if I wait one model year if I can get XM possibly. Also hearing rumors that they might offer a hybrid in 2007 that will get close to 40 mpg. Even though I love the Odyssey, it is hard to think I spent almost 40K on a vehicle that whistles all of the time.

I sure am sorry you're having this problem. I cannot imagine Honda can't fix it. I know my salesmen wouldn't put up with a customer having any kind of problem. We have the EX with leather, Nav/DVD and think it is the most fantastic car we've ever been in. Of course, I come from 20 years of owning Chrysler mini-vans. My last one went through three transmissions, an air conditioning system, power steering pump and constant seat problems in 6 years. Thankfully, I had an extended warranty. I'd contact Honda directly if you haven't already. I just can't see my dealer not getting that fixed. We've had no trouble of that sort or any sort in 15,000 miles. Again, I am so sorry you're having a problem.

We had same problem with 2004. Very bad. We were going to trade it in. Dealership in Houston found the windshield had been replaced prior to us buying NEW, and was replaced with a NON-standard windshield and did not quite fit the shape. Replaced under warranty and we still have a quiet car!

Just purchased a 2006 Honday Odyssey three weeks ago and the check fuel cap indicator came on? Tank was half full and last trip to the gas station was about 1 week prior to that. So not sure why it would come on now, and also after making sure it was tight, the light appears to be still on. Anyone have the same issue? regards.

We just took our 2005 Odyssey to the dealer to have the wind "noise" fixed. They said it was caused by a bad seal so they replaced it. The very next day I have a 3 inch crack in my windshield starting from the middle/bottom of the windshield. We took it back to the dealer today and they said that this crack has nothing to do with the work they had done on the windshield the previous day and that it must have been caused by a rock chip--that neither my husband or I could see or feel. I just cannot believe this, has anyone else had these kinds of problems?

Was the bad seal around the windshield? The only seal for the windshield, is the glue that holds the windshield in, they would have to remove the windshield, then re-install it to fix the seal. If this is the case, they have obviously damaged the windshield. It does not take much to chip/shell the very edge of the windshield and later in time have a crack or, on a side/rear glass(where safety glass is used) have the window "blow out"

I also have a 2005 Honda Odyssey with wind noise around the windshield. I have had it in the shop twice to replace the molding around the windshield (the dealer even broke my windshield trying to replace it the first time - Bastards!). If you look closely at the molding on both driver and passenger sides, it resembles a knife blade with space between it and the windshield. I am not an engineer, but appears the molding catches the wind (like putting a piece of grass between your thumbs and making a whistle (bad analogy, but the best one I can think of). It appears to be a bad design - not like molding around other car windshields. I've been through the Lemon Law once already and was successful - it may come to that again.

Yes, my 2006 Odyssey windshield cracked right under the defroster in one big snap. I wonder if they have a problem like they had with the Element

That is the problem with Honda dealers. They all have a attitude that their products are perfect , trouble free. I have had 2 Odyssey's a '03 & '05 and a 06 Element and you bring them in to service because you have time to kill and you like the inconvenience of being without your car.Well for 07 I bought a Toyota Camry good buy Honda. I am so glad to have found this site, because unlike Tom, from Temecula, CA, I to have the same problem with my 2005 Honda Odessey. The windshield problem (very noisy, wind houwling at speed between 40-50 mph, is so very correct. I thought this was just a normal thing with the vehicle. Now in the process of buying another Honda Odessey, this has made me think. The dealership here in Natchez, Mississippi, said they replaced my brake shoes and pads, it makes this loud houwling noise all the time, but they can't find hear the noise. I think I'm having second thoughts about 2007 Honda Odessey. I got a letter from the United States District Court for a proposed settlement class that may entitle me to an extension on warranties, and possible a cash refund, something to think about. Thanks Tom for shining light on a problem I could not fully comprehend.

Had the same whistling noise in our 2005 odyssey, but we ignored it , till a few days ago on a cold morning, wife was warming up car (and running defog on high) in driveway and noticed the windshield cracking before her eyes at the bottom of the middle of the windshield. brought it to Honda, the manager insisted it was a rock/stone impact crack, even though it was a clean 3 Ft long crack, there was no dimple or radial or concentric fractures usually associated with an impact.

Slow down! You're trying to do too much and it's driving you - and everyone else - up the wall. What's more, if you're in too much of a hurry you'll start to become accident-prone and that will make you even more het up. Try to take any setbacks or domestic mishaps in your stride, otherwise you'll end the day feeling like a nervous wreck.
