I have a Element 2005 EX and when it drives goes fine in reverse,over drive 1 and 2 except for drive it goes fine until is time to change on to second gear then it goes back to first gear.
Does any one have a guess or an idea of what the problem might be??

Go to Autozone or some other local auto parts store and have them read the trouble code that the car has set. You have an electronic controlled transmission so the problem is probably some sensor or solenoid. If its the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS, read the post I just entered explaining how to correct the problem and not spending $700 for a part you really do not need.
